Why this growth habit?

This plant has been identified as an etiolated Kalanchoe blossfeldiana, on Name That Plant here and by others on a Facebook plant group. - the owner says all the cuttings which came from it grow in the same way, as hanging plants. She feels the light they are in is adequate. Can anyone say why this is happening, or could this be a change of habit in one plant from upright growth to a hanging plant? A new type?

I would be grateful for any input.
