Replacing an old Jensen downdraft range with a non-downdraft Samsung

Hi,

I'm replacing an old, defective Jensen range. It has a downdraft. The house is an older house with slightly shallower base cabinets (23 inches deep) and counter-tops (24.5 inches deep). Only two companies make downdraft replacements: Jenn Air and KitchenAid. I've looked at their products and their ranges are 28 7/8" deep. Even after accounting for the typical 1-inch protrusion on ranges, I believe this will be too deep for my slightly shallow kitchen. That inspired me to find ranges that are 26 to 27 inches deep. I found two Samsung ranges that are a perfect fit, however, they are not downdrafts.
What is the process of replacing a downdraft range with an ordinary non-downdraft range?

Thank you so much!

Joseph
