I have one coming so I would love to hear the feedback on this rose

Rock & Roll is one delightfully nice grandiflora. It blooms well here. It has a moderate fragrance. The flowers are well-formed, but no two are alike. It survives our unkind climate. It does need to be sprayed, like every other rose around here. The only observation that I have is that there is more striping in cooler temperatures. In the heat, the striping pretty much goes away leaving the flowers basically a bicolor as a red with a white reverse. This is one I would have more of if I had more room.

Thanks for the insight. I don't mind it turning more of a bicolor in the heat the bustopher, actually I lost a bicolor which was Cherry Parfait so this would work out great.

Mine is among the tallest of my striped roses, along with Stars and Stripes Forever. Both of them can top out at 5 feet or more for me, and they're both pretty hardy for me in zone 5 so should be fine for you. They bloom pretty regularly all season, though the blooms get less double in high heat of summer, ending up more semidouble. They probably last less than a week on the bush but there's pretty regular rebloom so it's easy to just deadhead the old ones and not notice the difference.

I've grown Rock and Roll for 7 or 8 years now. I started the project of digging up a lot of my roses and replacing with more bs resistant ones a couple of years ago. Rock and Roll is the only striped I've kept in the process. Not because it is bs resistant in our high humidity(not my worst offender, but certainly not my best), but because I love it so much. It is one of my favorite cut flowers...flushes produce enough flowers to make a big bouquet and still have plenty left on the bush; it lasts a long time in the vase and smells wonderful. The bush gets big here...about 6 ft tall by 4 ft wide and has flush after flush all season. As already mentioned, color is different in the heat...in spring and fall, it is very much a red & white striped/splashed rose that eventually ages to red, but in summer it is a red & pink rose with striping and splashes that are much less detectable and it quickly ages to red. I'm sure I will replace it when I find a fragrant, striped, bs resistant rose to rival it, but until then, it stays.

I love striped roses and R&R is one. It has a tight bloom but they aren't the largest. If I had to pick just one, and thank God I don't, I would go Neil Diamond.

Gorgeous pictures! Thanks for sharing everyone. I didn't realize the size, it seems it can get bigger than I thought but fortunately it will still work! I was undecided but this helped me make my choice. Unfortunately Heirloom Roses doesn't have it in stock, I would have liked an own root gallon which they sell but I'm going to keep looking. Thanks again.

Northland Rosarium has it own root. They are terrific.

That's great to know Jasminerose in fact I ordered from them before and was happy with the purchase. But I hesitated to look because I know they have a min. of 2 roses. But I just looked and they have Morden Sunrise and Champagne Wishes so I can meet the min. Those are just a few more on my list to plant this spring :)

Pat, the pictures of your Rock and Roll are such much prettier than the picture that Palatine uses as its stock photo. I love how yours has some pink to it. I am so excited to get mine. I need to go out and rethink it's placement.
