Just to continue working on the closet I'm building. Finished the framing yesterday. Today I'll get the ship lap boards cut to size and hopefully sanded and primed. It will be slow going, as I have to rest frequently.

I'm going to have one more coffee, then get dressed and run to Costco. I need wings for dinner tomorrow night (it's our Walking Dead meal lol), and macadamia nuts for snacking. Then back home to clean a bathroom and I'm going to sit down and work on crocheting the afghan I started for one of my kids.

Today, laundry and reading. Have to finish this book....My Brilliant Friend... and pass it on for our Book Exchange. Tomorrow, will make a trip to Costco and go out to lunch with DH.

Yard work and a little housework while listening to an audiobook.

I'm purging files and filing today. I finally have my tax info ready for our accountant but I need to make some sense of this office. I had DH bring in one of the Costco folding utility tables, thought that would be easier on my back than the piles and little stacks of sorted paperwork I'd been putting on the floor ;0)

Right now though, I'm baking the brownie bar (Texas sheet to some) cake. My SIL has her husbands grandsons for the weekend and wants to take them clam digging this evening. It's pouring down rain. It's not supposed to stop. Being on the beach is not sounding inviting at this point ;0)

Trying to get motivated to work on our tax return. :-P

Top priority is staying warm. We got snow yesterday, and frigid temps + high winds today. I feel sorry for the children at the St. Patrick's Day parade; I'm surprised it wasn't rescheduled.

I'll have some paid work to do today, and am planning to get out the sewing machine to sew bindings on some hooked mats that have been waiting ages for me to do this. Also, it's a good day to make some soup.

Sons are coming over for lunch, then tomorrow I'm starting a garden project that involves moving a lot of plants, that may take 2 or 3 days.

So really nothing today. But tomorrow hosting the kids to celebrate husband's birthday. I have not nailed down the menu but have all the ingredients I need for whatever I decide. I am thinking of a buffet of buffalo wings, meatballs, Italian sausage and braciola that I brought home from NY which are so much better than what I get in Maryland. Little kids like macaroni so a pot of sauce too, but I don't think I will put meatballs and sausage in the sauce. Reading above made me realize that I need a cake too. Baking a couple loaves of French bread and a loaf of Japanese milk bread. Laundry. And coffee tasting, LOL. I bought enough beans of three new (to us) roasts just to see if we're missing something and we are going to try them all this weekend. We have been drinking exclusively French roast.

Last night went to a distillary for a tour and tasting then to our clubhouse for a meeting. This morning I went to the police training center for a "crime summit" which was very interesting. We were given six subjects and could choose three to learn more about. I chose human trafficking, drug abuse and body camera use by police. I attended this last year and thought it was worth while to attend again. Im doing laundry and some cleaning today and tomorrow Im going to get my tax package ready for my accountant and then just read and relax.

Being lazy so far, checking online sites (including KT), reading the morning newspaper and having breakfast. Now time to bundle up in many layers of clothing and go outside for my 10,000 steps. It's very icy so I will have to creep along in many areas. Also trying to track down maps for our upcoming trip overseas.

I have a pot of Farmer's Market soup simmering on the stove top. I've just done some small jobs around here today. Running to the store later, but I think this will be a pretty lazy day, which I need.

Cleaning house, going to the feed store, buying groceries, and cleaning Val's stall and putting down fresh bedding. The usual.

Gardening, cleaning leaves out of the cactus garden. The tree next to it finally released its dead leaves.

House cleaning, laundry and other household chores. After all of that is finished, we're going out for dinner and spending the night in town. Tomorrow morning, we're going out for brunch at the local golf course and then home to relax for the rest of the day.

I had to work for 2 hours today. Now I'm spending time with the pets, will write my grateful for list for the day and read here and elsewhere on line.

I was hoping for something new on NetFlix but couldn't find anything so will put on a ted talk. Not sure what subject yet. I liked the one I listened to yesterday that said you don't HAVE to be happy all the time. :) I'm a bit of a grump and couldn't be happy all the time if I were paid anyway.

Not feeling up to par. Mostly sitting on the sofa under a throw and snoozing off and on. Have had three episodes of being light headed since Feb. 26th. Yesterday it was in a florist shop. I had to find a place to sit down, another customer found me a chair. It only lasted a short while and I talked myself out of it, that is, of passing out.

A friend told me it sounds like vertigo. The room doesn't spin, and not really dizzy, just light headed enough to think I'm going to faint. ugh. I have a doc. appt on March 17th. for a physical. I suppose I'll have to make another appt. to discuss the episodes, as there are these "rules" now about what you can discuss with your doctor during certain appts. I'm not kidding!

Resting, a lot. I felt a chest cold comming on Wednesday, you know that slight tight feeling in the lungs..within a few hours my glands in the neck hurt and were swollen, my throat hurt, I was coughing up tons, my entire body hurt, sneezing, fever, nasal congestion..yada yada. Hubs insisted I be seen at the UrgiCare although I resisted until yesterday. I tested positive for the flu. I'm forcing myself to drink a lot and alternating Tylenol and Motrin every 3 hours. Can't say the fever reducers/pain meds help much, but they probably do. What seems to help the body aches the most is a hot soak in the tub with lavender epsom salts. I think I got this from my 9 year old, but thats a different post for later.

So sorry for the dizziness schoolhouse. I get dizzy from my face and inside my mouth swelling up when I have Migraines. Square breathing or yoga breathing help me FWIW. What does the Dr. say?

And sorry about your sickness Mamapinky0! Glad the lavender Epsom salts helps. I'll have to try that when DH or I get sick.

I was going to suggest peppermint tea to drink if you can keep anything down and essential peppermint oil mixed with a carrier oil, as they clear the nose and throat.

Visiting friends in southern California after a week at a conference in LA. Tomorrow, weather permitting, we might go hot air ballooning.

Schoolhouse, please get a sooner appointment for the light headedness. If you faint, you could hit your head or something.

We finalized arrangements with a local company to lay carpet and solid surface floors throughout the house. They will begin 3/20.

My oldest son will arrive on Sunday from California to stay for 3 nights. That means lots of cleaning and scrubbing and putting away.

We went to a local art fair today and purchased only food products. I was tempted by a few things, but managed to not buy. It was a beautiful day, large crowd and about 75 degrees.

I spent about 2 hours reading a James Lee Burke book and hope to have it finished before Tuesday.

One of my Grandsons s here for the better part of the March break to help Gramma following my cataract removal.

Laundry in,supper cooking,carpeting vacuumed and we went to town to get my hair washed.

mamapinky, that's what I did the first time I got light headed. I remembered Mom would feel like that when she was dehydrated so I drank a full glass of water, then sat down. The feeling persisted, so I got another glass of water and then sat in the recliner. Finally I felt better.

Pkponder, I do worry sometimes because I have a weird heart rhythm thing. Also diabetes in the family. That's what I fear more than the heart problem! I just canceled lunch tomorrow with a cousin coming in from Chicago. Better just stay in the recliner and relax all day and keep warm. Thanks for the concern.

Today I finished filtering through my bathroom stuff. Filled an entire bag for the trash! I then went to lunch with my daughter, had gyros, am still stuffed. After that a short trip to Walmart. For me that was a lot in one day, am still resting from it all. Tomorrow I'll begin the filtering of the kitchen. Start with spices then under the sink. Those will have the throw aways lol

Working on the last of the stuff we need to get unpacked and put away. It has been in one hidden corner of the sunroom. Doing lot of laundry. It's been very rainy today. We took a break to go to Academy sports. I got new sandals and he got a nice new pair of Merrell shoes. He lost so many of his good shoes in the flood. I lots quite a few pairs too but luckily my better shoes were hanging in a shoe holder in the closet so didn't get wet. I did lose sandals.

Then we went out to dinner and I had some wonderful crawfish.

New sandals, I am on high doses of prednisone right now so I have fluffy puffy feet lol.

Schoolhouse- please call your doctor and ask if you can also be seen about these episodes at the same time as your physical.

I understand what you're saying about the rules at doctor's visits. It's because of scheduling and insurance billing.

Today I tried to do some late planning for an upcoming overseas trip -- ordered some shoes to wear (hope they get here in time) because I don't want to wear the loudly colored Asics that I have been living in the past year! Went through my closet and decided that I need to go shopping too, because after I put on 15 then lost 10 pounds, I still look like I have an extra 15 just on my stomach and the clothes that I thought I would wear don't fit quite right or look good (I work in scrubs and mostly wear French terry or yoga pants at home, jeans for errands -- )..... and seeing how my figure has changed made me a bit depressed.

but I did get my workout in, before eating half a box of cookies. Then I researched local eyeglass shops, because I broke the glasses that I have been using and really need a new prescription anyway; so I was looking for someplace that offers eye exams and one day or at least less than a week delivery on the glasses. (We leave a week from Tuesday)

And tried once again to get my traveling partner to commit to an itinerary, or at least say what he doesn't want to do...

Granddaughter came yesterday for break, rainy quiet day today. Went to dinner tonight. Carnival and Rodeo tomorrow! Actually Rodeo many times this week and going to see Beauty and the Beast!

Today I went to a baby shower for a niece. Lots of fun.. Tomorrow we will go to church and don't have any plans for the day.. may sew in the afternoon..

Went for a great trail run today before the rains hit. Tomorrow I am going to see the childrens play Cat in the Hat with my niece and her 2 sons who are 5 and 2. I'm really looking forward to that, it should be fun.

I don't have grandchildren and at the rate my sons are going, probably never will so I am always thankful and thrilled when she includes me in these activities.

Caught up on laundry. DH was finally able to do the final coats on the dresser bed he stained since the temps finally got warm enough. I went out this eveing and picked up some things at Target. Stopped and got a rice plate to go from my new favorite Chinese place. They really packed that take out tray. I have enough mongolian beef and sticky rice left for lunch and then some. Came with an egg roll and cookie too.

Today I may go out and have paint mixed for the spare room now that the bed is done. Also have to pick out a type/color of rocks for a drip edge around the garden shed. The dog will be happy since she can come along to those places.

Schoolhouse, I'm with the others that urge you to see a doctor soon. The cause could be something very simple like anemia. The dizziness and possibly fainting can be very dangerous. Please, if you feel bad, get down on the ground!!!!!!

Today, I'm going to vacuum pet hair, make some curry and a pot of soup, and later cut fabric for Roman Blinds.

Today I will be babysitting my friend's daughter. They will drop her off on their way out of town. We are going to bake cookies for her to bring home.

So far I feel better today, just continuing sinus dripping down my throat that is driving me crazy. Yes, I am calling my doctor's office tomorrow and explain my symptoms and to see if I might have some more "physician time". How different than years gone by.

While sweeping the rug in the bedroom awhile ago a very small plush cat toy - a mouse - got sucked up into the brush head and beyond! I immediately checked the sweeper bag, no mouse, tried to see into the brush head, no clog at the rollers that I can tell. There's plenty of suction through the hose still, but that mouse has to be somewhere. It's a brand new Roc canister sweeper ($$$). I hope I didn't damage it already.

Got up @ 2am Saturday morning so we could drive 3.5hrs to the crane festival and shoot the sunrise. This is when the birds cross over from standing in water to avoid being eaten by predators at night....to crossing over to farmers fields to eat grain.

Yesterday spent the day shopping for prom dress for my exchange student, then accessories. She only found shoes and nothing else. Today I had to work. Was pretty rough getting up after only 5 hours of sleep this morning. My foot is killing me after being on it half the day yesterday in the mall and today at work. I sprained it back in early November! 4 more shifts to work on my med-surg unit and then I'll have a desk job. I can't wait.

I have been sick for what seems like a damn month! I finally started feeling better last week, after lots of otc meds and 3 prescriptions from dr. Anyhow, I only had Thursday to get my whole house pulled together and cleaned. DH's brother and his wife got here Friday morning. Our son, our daughter and her fiancé got here Friday night.

Saturday we had an additional 13 people here most of the day and evening. Too cold to be outside for a firepit so they were all in the house. We had a great time. Ate, drank and laughed a lot. We played Left Center Right both nights. Everyone had a ball.

Now everyone is gone, and my house is quiet :(
