Comments (8)General Definition of Biodiesel: Biodiesel is a domestic, renewable fuel for diesel engines derived from natural oils like soybean oil, and which meets the specifications of ASTM D 6751. Clarifying language to general definition: Biodiesel can be used in any concentration with petroleum based diesel fuel in existing diesel engines with little or no modification. Biodiesel is not the same thing as raw vegetable oil. It is produced by a chemical process which removes the glycerin from the oil. Technical Definition for Biodiesel (ASTM D 6751) and Biodiesel Blend: Biodiesel, na fuel comprised of mono-alkyl esters of long chain fatty acids derived from vegetable oils or animal fats, designated B100, and meeting the requirements of ASTM D 6751. Biodiesel Blend, nÂa blend of biodiesel fuel meeting ASTM D 6751 with petroleum-based diesel fuel, designated BXX, where XX represents the volume percentage of biodiesel fuel in the blend. Clarifying language to technical definition: Biodiesel, as defined in D 6751, is registered with the US EPA as a fuel and a fuel additive under Section 211(b) of the Clean Air Act. Biodiesel is typically produced by a reaction of a vegetable oil or animal fat with an alcohol such as methanol or ethanol in the presence of a catalyst to yield mono-alkyl esters and glycerin, which is removed. ---- So I suppose my question still stands --- How do you propose to extract this stuff yourself....See MoreCan you handle another drapery rod question?
Comments (4)If there is enough space below the transoms to run a rod across the top of the windows and door, it should be fine. That would be my preference as long as you don't have really disturbing sunlight through the transoms that you want to reduce. I think it would look odd to run the curtains high on the sides and low in the center. I hope I understood your description properly....See Morecan you switch handle bands on range?
Comments (4)Not at all ridiculous!! I know exactly what you mean. I'm always thinking that if I could just change that handle, (etc)... So, some would be easy to change out because the screws are easily accessible from the other side and some are not. If not, that would probably require a service tech to change the interior door assembly to do that. I'm not familiar with their ranges. And then there is the possibility of voiding the warranty if you do, so you'll have to check with Samsung. When I was checking into changing out handles of different ovens, the Thermador did have easily accessible screws, but to change out their handles would void their warranty. Now, some of their ovens (the Masterpiece line), are available with a choice of two handles (either Masterpiece or Professional). Maybe Samsung has a different design that would fit from a different line? Or an older line? For my research, I was seeing about using an entirely different brand handle (the Lacanache), on a different wall oven. I also checked with Miele and they have several handles within their lines that are interchangeable (five handles from the now older 4000 series and three I think for the newer 6000 series and maybe from the old line too), and they would also allow a different brand to be installed without voiding the warranty. Some of their ovens had easily accessible screws and others had doors that would have to be disassembled to change them out. And yes, the screw holes of the handle will have to match up with the oven door holes. You might get lucky and find one that does. The Lacanache handle could easily fit in another mfg oven door because it is actually in three pieces so the two ends can be lined up with the door holes and the center handle can be cut to size if needed. (And they also sell the handle separately). I wish more manufacturers routinely did have several handles to choose from. Would make retrofitting one new appliance into an existing setting a lot easier. And especially if you want a bit of style change. Hope this helps with your search!...See MoreFront Door Handle Replacement: Can't Find Smaller-Sized Handle
Comments (4)Thank you - I think I found something from Fusion hardware that will work. The holes for the handleset are to be drilled 7.5 inches apart, but the bottom through bolt is adjustable so I should be able to match the bottom hole of the handle. I had also found Baldwin's Madison handleset which was smaller as well, but without the adjustable bottom through bolt....See More- 9 years ago
