Can you handle another drapery rod question?

We have a triple atrium door set up in our dining room. Two fixed 30x80 panels and one 30x80 that functions as a door. Above each of these sections is a transom.

When I go to install my drapery rod, do I install it above the frame for the entire thing (doors and transom) or could I mount it above the doors only?

We keep the transoms loaded up with LED candles and we will have a double rod set up so we can pull the sheers for some minimal privacy in the evenings only.

In the alternative, could I mount the drapery panels high (since I don't plan to move them) and then mount a second lower rod for the sheers? I don't really want to cover the transoms, but I think it's going to look silly otherwise.

But, we are basically done with the first floor renovations so it's time for accessories, window treatments, and plants!
