Coffering the bedroom ceiling for a ceiling fan
Comments (3)How about a wall mounted fan? Consider fans from Matthews fans and Fanimation. There are a few more options. I have 8' ceilings and the huggers are wonderful and work very well. My huggers are from Modern fan. I saw that Matthews Fan just added a ceiling hugger that is also very appealing. Good luck!...See MorePaint question for North Facing Bedroom vaulted ceilings
Comments (6)Here are pics of why I need to change the color. I took these around 10 am in the morning on a sunny day .Hard to capture cathedral ceilings but was trying to show my dilemma with dark corners and that the color brightens in some areas but not others. I took pics with no flash. The sun rays were coming in with the one pic where it looks cloudy but it really doesn't affect much lighting wise. Click on each pic to open to full pic. The first one is leading into my master bathroom which is bright and is a south facing bathroom with pocket sliding doors....See MoreHow to blackout light on arched window on vaulted ceiling in bedroom?
Comments (2)What did you end up doing? I have a similar problem with an arched window and sloped ceiling. Ideally I wanted a straight curtain rod across the top of the arch but because of the slope I thought it would look funny if drapes didn’t extending the typical 6” or so beyond the window. I’m considering a roller shade or woven shade to cover extending from the top as if it was one large rectangular window but I’m not 100% positive I even have the room for that with my slope. May have to go with two separate shades........See Moremaster bedroom with vaulted ceiling
Comments (18)You could add horizontal trim at the top of and against the 8' part of the wall over the row of windows and the same height all around the room. You could paint the wall and trim and ceiling all the same color or use that horizontal trim board to make a distinction between the wall and ceiling colors. For decorative purposes, you could simply ignore the area above the horizontal trim or on the wall above the headboard of your bed, create a single deep box wall to wall box shelf about a foot square just beneath the trim board. Whether you leave that shelf open or add solid doors or glass doors depends upon what you want to add/store there. One idea, depending upon your headboard and personal taste, might be to create that box shelf across the wall EXCEPT directly above the bed, adding only a top horizontal board there, and then paint the wall between the top board and floor behind your headboard so it is your favorite bold color as an accent wall in an otherwise neutral colored room, with or without vertical trim boards, depending upon your headboard and how you want to "frame" your accent wall or just...See MoreILoveRed
