O T It is time for me to start begging.
Comments (24)First I want to say thank you to all of you for your support and suggestions. Thanks David for the links for the medicine. Thanks Annette for the other link. I will be checking them out. I tried checking out costco too so thanks for that Kylie. I never could pull up anything with their actual prices for drugs at todays cost. Because ya'll have all shown so much care and support you have brought me to tears. That's not a bad thing, it just makes me feel good to know that others truely care about my health. Kind of makes me feel loved. (Big Fat Smile) Beth your cannas went out today. I'm sorry to say that I had to write on the sides of the cannas what they were. By the time I got to that I forgot what one of them was. LOL I told you I was old and forgetful. Anyway each clump is a different canna. The clumps are large enough that you should be able to make several plants out of some of them. I hope you enjoy them. You other people that I owe plants they will go out Monday if it's dry enough for me to get into the beds. If not it will have to wait a few more days. We rode the fence line today only to discover we had alot of trees down everywhere and several places we're going to have to repair to keep the horses from getting out. If it's not one thing it's 10.... Happy Gardneing, Marian...See MoreDoes anyone else feel like they 'give up' this time of year?
Comments (21)Yes, Ginny, that's a good point. My DH keeps suggesting that I get a greenhouse so I can "garden all year" - and I keep saying No way! My fall gardening season is coming to an abrupt halt after tomorrow, as I'm leaving for a 5-week trip on Saturday. There are lots of volunteer tomatoes about to ripen, the crape myrtle has just started to really bloom fully, the huge Salvia leucanthemum is peaking, and most of the old mums have not really started showing color but are full of buds. The Franklinia altamaha is looking perfect ... at least a couple of them (I have 5, I think) are loaded with flowers and buds. My newly planted border still needs constant attention to keep ahead of the weeds and volunteers and to add mulch here and there and check the soil moisture, and the newer trees and shrubs need to be checked every few days to be sure they're getting their water etc needs met. When I get home, it will all be frosty and brown. DH is not going to be able to keep track of anything, and I'm just hoping we start getting some regular rain, soon. It will be spring before I know what survives this kind of neglect. So, if you can keep gardening this month, count your blessings, and enjoy these last few weeks of the season. It's going to be a long winter!...See MoreIs anyone else in this forum becuase they don't want to clean?
Comments (13)I'm conflicted. In my head, I want everything immaculate and love the feeling of just-cleaned anything. When I clean, I'm a little obsessive. In reality, I've chosen a life with a bunch of long-haired dogs and feel like I can't keep up. Actually, the family areas where we spend most of our time are almost easier to keep a handle on because we have to clean regularly - kitchen, family room, etc. It's the areas that don't get used as often - dining room, guest rooms, extra bathroom, etc. that build up. I have a to-do list a mile long in my mind but then get overwhelmed and feel like I'll never catch up. All or nothing thinking is awful, but when it comes to cleaning, I can't seem to get my act together. DH and I go in spurts, but I wish we could keep everything more consistent....See MoreAnyone else got the flu that isn't in the vaccine?
Comments (15)Got my flu shot in October and a couple days later came down with a cold. A nasty, nasty strain of cold is going around. I've been coughing for just over two months. Violent coughing at one point. So violent that I pulled a muscle in my side. Ran a fever last week and was out of work for two days. Haven't had a fever for 30 years. Have gone through two combo boxes of Day/NIght Theraflu, a bottle of Nyquil, 11 bags of cough drops, a 10-day course of Augmentin (antibiotic) that made me sicker, and finally, a 5-day course Z-pak which has nearly stopped the coughing. Saw my doctor for a six week checkup yesterday and since I'm still not 100%, he ordered a CT of my sinuses to see if I still have some kind of infection. Yep, something really nasty is going around (though I don't think it's the flu) and I'll be so happy when it's gone. Jodi-...See MoreLilyfinch z9a Murrieta Ca
