We baby boomers are rapidly becoming seniors. It's kind of hard to get used to, but take heart that you aren't alone. The boomers were among the largest of generations and there are a lot of us!

On the plus side, the boomers are also re-defining what it means to be a senior and are remaining fit and active well into their 70's. I believe that trend will continue into their 80's and even beyond.

Its the cycle of life. I hate it but it is what it is.

Prince died. He was part of my high school years. I keep reminding myself that this is my time and my place in history and make the most of it.

And then, there are those of us who were born before the Baby Boomers were. . . . . . . . . . . .

My late husband's cousin is cleaning out a lot of stuff - she's in her mid-80's and her husband is in his mid-90's. She sent me three photos taken 30 years ago at the rehearsal dinner for her step-son. OMG!!! I was YOUNG! I was PRETTY! My husband was handsome and ALIVE! Pretty much ruined my day...

I saw the title and thought I too am feeling old. But I did yard work all day and my muscles ache. Tomorrow morning I will not wake up magically healed. This did not happen when I was young.

So true. I can't remember the last time I didn't wake up without an ache or pain.

All those years we were pain free and took it for granted because we didn't know any better. :-)))

As to the dementia diagnosis for David Cassidy, I do wonder how much recreational drug use contributed to the diagnosis.

Plus alcoholism.

Unfortunately, aging is life. (Geeze, I sound like Yogi Berra.) I did not ask for it nor wish for it; Mr. Age sneaked up behind me, jumped on my back and said, "You're it! You getting old. Live with it! And don't mind me. I'm just along for the ride . . . on your back of course." "Oh, I hear your joints creaking."

I knew my age bracket had changed when my social calendar began to fill with attending funerals. I noticed that happening 5 yrs ago, and it has not improved.

It really hit home last month when I was encouraged (cajoled) into participating in a volley ball game with some of my peers. (They confuse me for a younger person because I'm not wrinkled and yet have hair.) I could not move fast enough to play. Ten years ago, I could. That hit me hard.

Half of my high school class has passed away. My sister, 1.5 yr younger than me, is aging rapidly. It first showed in her handwriting. I wonder how she views me? We're smart enough not to ask each other that question.

Its early March and cold outside. Maybe it will warm a bit in the next 2 weeks. I have to force myself to go out for a walk when its cold. I'll be glad for warmer weather.

My approach is to ignore how old I am getting and plan for some enjoyable activities. Tomorrow, I'm meeting a friend from my former place of employment. (He was a Technician who did a lot of product development testing for me before I retired.) We'll have lunch together. I'll consult on a couple of technical problems he's having and then he'll roundly and soundly beat me in a round of pool in his basement. We'll finish the afternoon by watching a couple of Netflix videos.

Youth is wasted on the young; it's one of those things people don't appreciate until it's gone. If I only knew then what I know now - dang it!

I have a few aches and pains and am slower getting things done than I used to. BUT, I'm retired, have a garden, go bicycling, have a grand baby. I have time to read, bake bread, think about stuff. So many positives.

I think dementia runs in David Cassidy's family. He talked about his mother and I think another relative who had it.

Jemdandy, I go to an exercise class that incorporates hand weights , three times a week. It's mixed bag of ages, but I and maybe two others are the oldest of the old!

For the most part, I can do the whole class. But when it comes to the floor exercises, I do them but as I am doing them, my muscles hurt! Years ago, I would ache after a class, not during.

I have to be super mindful of various past injuries. My side, my lower back probably has arthritis, and two different foot injuries. So, sometimes I have to modify an easy exercise because of these things.

But, I keep going and do feel better because of it.

Noreen Corcoron died recently. Hadn't thought of her in years. I liked Bachelor Father very much when it was on.

Yes!!! To almost all of what's been said. I'm a youngster, 56, but due to all the havoc chemo plays on your body, will never feel young again. Since I'm fighting the lymphoma again with a new regimen of chemo, I'm no doubt incurring more damage. But the alternative???? I'll move forward to each new "cure' or "remission" or "control" that may help me and enjoy everything I can in life. If I can't take our dog for a walk anymore, because I get too fatigued, then I'll sit out in my lawn chair and visit with the neighbors that pass by. I'll design my flower beds, and if I'm too stiff to get on the ground, my ever faithful, uncomplaining husband will do it for me. I will live as much of life as my body will allow!

When we lived in LA, we went to the same church as Elinor Donahue. She did so much for our church! She helped with the entire huge religious musical for children each year. The wonderful old Mary Wickes and Elinor were in charge. Such a wonderful gift to our church.

When milk is spilled ... we can contemplate it ... or get busy wiping it up (depending on our capability).

Crying over it ... isn't much help.

Sometimes ... just makes us feel bad - (badder?).

The neighbors came by to "tour" the house before the renters move in today. I kept saying I don't want to do another remodel.....I have too many aches and pains....I'm too old. :0) We're scheduling vacation type trips....for older people. :0)
