what made you cry when it died
Comments (18)I cried, more from shock than sad, when I accidently cut down my 20 year old split leaf philadendrom. I didn't realize all those little runners on the ground were holding it up. I just stood there with my mouth and eyes open wide when the poor thing fell. I'll never forget the feeling. It did leave some babys that were a good size, put the arrangement just isn't right. Hope no one thinks I planted them that way. I'm still trying to fill in the void. I also cried when my orchid tree died. When we finally cut it down it had rotted from the inside. Not sure if it was from a freeze or something else. It's where my boys learned how to climb. Beautiful flowers every spring....See MoreFor us woman only - get a kleenex or a box if you cry when laughi
Comments (10)You have got to be kidding. Sorry, I know there must have been all types of physical amd psycho pain going on. But can't stop laughing. Although I was waiting for you to continue the story with having to call 911 and an experience in the emergency room. Thankfully that didn't happen. I'll be sharing this story for a very long time. Can you even walk now? And on a serious side, make sure you use an antibiotic or something to soothe this. Nothing with perfumes, etc. in it. I'd hate to hear something worse evolved....See MoreOnions making you cry? Great fix!
Comments (22)With four young swimmers in my house, I have plenty of swim goggles so I've always just kept a pair in my kitchen cabinet and used those. I did hear a tip once that by keeping the onion in the fridge, it helps prevent the sulfenic acid in them (which is what makes you cry)from traveling through the air to your eyes. They need to be in the fridge for about an hour or in the freezer for 15 minutes. I always forget to put them in the fridge/freezer so I just use my goggles!...See MoreHow Do You Cry?
Comments (32)Springermom, I am stunned that your uncle was so mean. You might try writing a letter to this Uncle. Not to ever send and since he has passed perhaps simply put it aside for a little while to burn later. Writing down how he hurt you, may help you deal with this pain. Crying makes us vulnerable and you were in the most vulnerable spot imaginable. Your uncle was a weak and insecure man. His anger at your show of emotion was wrong. I was not there to say if he did this with malice. It may be that he was unable to deal with his own grief and attacking you was his way of coping. There are many ways he could have handled his own angst at this funeral. He could have walked away or remained silent. What he did by yelling at you was that he stole your ability to heal yourself, express yourself and let the pain out. Crying plays an essential role in our biology as well as our social and cultural experiences. We can't always stop the tears from flowing, but crying gives our bodies and those around us a moment to pause. It is a time to either be alone, be hugged or let those emotions out. A famous British psychiatrist Henry Maudsley said "The sorrow which has no vent in tears may make other organs weep." For those of us who have trouble letting the tears out we must remind ourselves that it is okay to be vulnerable and allow ourselves to have moments of emotional expression. Thinking of you and wishing that if the tears decide to flow you will know that you are allowed to cry. ~boxerpups...See MoreUser
