It's snowing here in eastern Ohio too. They say 1 to 4 inches.

yuck! dh has to drive to Cleveland in the am...hope its done and the roads cleared...

Raining here, so I hope it doesn't freeze and turn into sleet, then ice. Supposed to have a slushy coating by dawn, then freezing temps tomorrow. Yesterday I told my father that I don't trust February--the Great Ice Storm of 2003 was on Feb 16.

Darn! It was 80 degrees today and the humidity is about 70% making it seem a whole bunch warmer. No winter for us except for two cool nights in December, low tonight is forecast to be 65.

Temp was 55 today...but now its dropping fast and raining. We have a winter advisory and supposed to get around 8 inches of snow tonight. News says to expect scattered power outtages. GREAT...Chip (7) has a back up asthma inhaler but usually uses the nebulizer..Amiees the one I need to worry about if we lose power, I cannot let her get chilled....I knew I should have had the generator serviced. I figure I can keep her warm at least thru the night and than an ambulance can transport her to a local hospital to be admitted awhile...but I'm counting my chickens before they hatch. Fingers crossed I don't lose power at least for too long.. . Its been such a pleasent winter, I should have been prepared.... (((smacking self)))

Oh mamapinky0, I hope that you don't lose power! Your plan sounds good but a heavy process. I suppose you'll have to be up all night watching over her.

So far 4 inches and the snow is comming down heavy. Still have power. I set my batter powered alarm for every 2 hours, but its almost 1am and I'm still up lol.

It's snowing here in Vancouver BC as well. We're breaking all kinds of snowfall records!

Pouring rain here. They say 4-8 inches of snow but I doubt it. It was almost 60 today. 33 now.

They've updated our forecast for today 10-18"+. Said we might get thunder snow!

I'm in Indiana. Only about an ice of snow here. I just took a peek and it is 18 out this morning. Lots of school delays. The weather man says watch out for slick spots... suppose to get back up in the high 40's in a couple days. Good ole Indiana weather.

So far all is good here. We still have our power along with 7 inches of snow. Lol. The boys are home today, school cancelled. This is their first weather cancellation this year, which is amazing for Pa. I will let the boys make homemade waffles today, with me assisting. We will make regular ones, chocolate chip and blueberry. Than they will go into the deep freezer, the waffles not the boys LOL. I hope the boys don't get it in their heads to make a snowman, but they will. I'm too old for this. Haha. I suppose I'll just have to DO IT...but I'm telling them to work fast and only giving them 45 minutes.

All of our New York, northeast locations are closed today because of the snow. It should be a VPN connection issue kind of day :-)

Fortunately, I flew up from Florida yesterday. It is snowing heavily here now and we're supposed to get 12 to 16 inches. After if stops tonight, we are driving to Boston to stay overnight in a hotel since we have a 7 a.m. appointment at Dana Farber. That should be some drive.

Yardstick shot... PRICELESS! I'm in NJ, pretty much right across Delaware from Philly. School was close by about 9 last night... way before even flake ONE fell. Was coming down pretty good when I finally got up this morning. Big piece of equipment (not usual township truck with plow on front) made ONE sweep around the circle and it was doen to black top with no pile in sight.

I think we got about 3 1/2 inches over night Susie. Would have been more but it kept melting for a good while when it fell. I am north and west of Susie 53. We do have sun out today. There was a two hour school delay this morning.

Yeonassky - we went to Vancouver during Christmas to experience our first green Yule. The "green" didn't happen! In fact, there was so much ice and snow that I slipped and fractured an ankle. Before we visited, we were assured that a snowy Christmas was extremely unlikely!

stacey - I'm so sorry. We never have a white Christmas in Vancouver. Most of us are pretty tired of all this snow. because it's been snowing since Dec. 5th and then been really cold so it doesn't melt. Today it's freezing rain on top of snow so the highways are really treacherous and a number of school districts are closed.

Here in southern Massachusetts, we are currently experiencing thunder along with our snow.

It was in the high 80's yesterday and in the 70's today. I just came in from outside and was thinking hard to imagine the northeast was getting so much snow. I am not complaining. I am a big wussy when it comes to cold weather. Every warm day in January and February means one day closer to spring, and yes, summer. Summer is my favorite time of year.

Like Fran, we are having "thunder snow" and blizzard conditions on outer Cape Cod. Our power has gone out several times, and we have 6 more hours of snow to come.

Almost all of the snow gone by yesterday ... had a little last night.

I was glad of it ...

... for when I'd moved the car out of the shed and returned to close the door ... there was a little brown trail from where it had stood out the door and through the snow.

When I returned, I backed up ... and found a pool under where the engine had been standing.

I'm at the library, 15 min. walk from the garage where they're fixing the car.
