Lady Gaga rocked it! I'd heard that she was going to get political, but she really didn't. Her message was one of inclusion and patriotism.

We all gathered around the L.R. to watch the Lady..just wonderful, LOVED IT.

We both thought that it was a great show, one of the best ever.

She had no intention of being political. In an interview I read, she stated that it has been a dream of hers since childhood to perform in the superbowl. It was her plan to lift us up, not crush us one more time in a divisive, political statement.

Did you know that all of those lights in the sky above the stadium at the very beginning were drones?

Supposedly they had a 35 mile drone free zone around the stadium today. I don't have a drone. Not sure how you would enforce that either.

Oh no doubt they would not hesitate to shoot down a drone. My guess they have technology to disable them if they choose to. We just had representatives from the sheriff's office here talking to our garden club and I specifically asked about the super bowl security. It was interesting what all they have here for this.

"This Land Belongs To You And Me" was her only hint at politics. The song was sung at an airport last weekend to show solidarity for those denied entrance to the US. Her entire show was amazing! I am a big fan of hers and LOVE LOVE LOVE her strong voice. She has class, believe it or not. :) Have you ever seen her on Saturday Night Live? She's hilarious!

I can tell you as someone who parks cars for my son's marching band fund raising: all cars parking on lots within a certain distance of all NFL stadiums are checked for bombs. No one may bring in any bags that aren't clear. No umbrellas. Doesn't get rid of all possibilities, but a whole lot of them.

Absolutely loved her halftime show. Had everything and a little something for everyone. She was awesome! I wasn't a fan until recently when I heard some interviews with her. Politics aside, she is extremely talented and fun.

The drones in the background were pre-recorded by Intel. She did jump from the top of the stadium though.

The commercials were just meh to me. Too many plugs for movies and TV shows interspersed with the others IMO. The one with Cam Newton and the supermodel was cute, and I loved the one with the soldiers (which was near real-time when they filmed the soldiers and their families), and a couple of others were ok but nothing really stood out.

Edited to add: all the college stadiums around here also have the clear bag, no umbrellas or large camera lens rule now too.

speaking of security, even when we go into the Calgary Saddledome, we go through a metal detector. And sometimes they'll check womens hand bags, which is why you'll never see me go into the stadium with one. NOBODY goes in my purse. ;)

Lady Gaga was wonderful. Such energy and daring.

I'm not too familiar with her music, but enjoyed her show -- imaginative and amusing!

I was wondering with her, as she's not always family friendly- but that was an AWESOME show! I think EVERYONE watching was able to be entertained and enjoy it, both at home and the stadium! She did a great job!

I thought her show was fabulous too. I did love the irony of her belting out "Born This Way" with Mike Pence sitting on the sidelines. As a long time Patriots fan, I was very happy with the outcome though I thought we were doomed. Sweet revenge on Roger Goodell.

I like how she has changed. I also like her pairings with Tony Bennett. maybe she is maturing?

Her past attire has been very inappropriate (my personal opinion) on many occasions. She wore a revealing inappropriate outfit to her sister's graduation. I get being outrageous as your persona, but be respectful in your personal life is all I'm saying.

Loved GAGA. One of the best half times ever and I loved all the anti Trump ads all night. Bet he didn't.

She's a smart marketer of herself. This morning she announced her world tour. Bet she's acquired some new fans, and that all of her shows sell out.

I loved it! Lady Gaga is quite talented, she really can sing, unlike so many others these days who are studio enhanced.

I didn't see it (was at work) but I was thoroughly impressed by her rendition of the national anthem last year. Anyone who was surprised after that, hadn't paid attention.

Watched her show on YouTube last night. Very impressive! I was pleasantly surprised.

The ads I saw (also on YouTube) - none really stood out.

And I got to miss the football portions of the proceedings, which was fine by me.

Lady Gaga hired 2 dance/drill teams from HSs in Houston to do the beautiful lights and the wave. They were sworn to secrecy for one month and the teens kept their word!

she looks so glamorous these days. Show was fantastic. It is one thing to be a singer but to do the acrobatics that she performed makes her truly amazing. I loved the very last where she jumped off with a football.

Gaga has to be one of the harding working people in the biz. She really pays her dues and thinks about her fans, wanting to give them all she's got.

I think they must have brought in quite a few different high schools for various activities. One of my children was in one of the pregame events. We didn't find out until 2-3 weeks beforehand.

I was afraid we were going to get another dose of Beyonce since she is a Houston native. I was happy she wasn't a part of this year's show.

I loved it, I enjoyed not seeing someone's nipple or political agenda.

Some people are saying there were some subtle politics in a couple of the songs. Those songs don't have the same meaning to me as it has to them. I interpret them differently.

"This Land Is Your Land" always reminds me of my grandfather. His family was extremely poor. He became an adult and got married in 1936 during the Depression. He made a trek out to California looking for work in either the 30's or 40's. He didn't find what he needed so he came back home and found a way to survive and feed his family. He worked hard and eventually thrived. He and my grandmother mentioned the Dust Bowl a few times. Those people had it even harder than my grandparents. My grandfather always tried to help poor people even when it wasn't in his best interest. I guess because of the way he grew up. That song may not have the meaning to me in the way Woodie Guthrie meant it. It does have meaning.

I quoted Woody Guthrie a few weeks ago, when my father made an inherently racist and bigoted remark, that he would not even think was questionable. I think the subtlety went over his head, too, because he didn't respond. He's come a long way, though, in the last few years.

At face value, Lady Gaga's performance seemed patriotic and inclusive, but I'm sure she deliberately chose a song that has a few more verses which aren't usually sung (I didn't learn them in grade school), and which give the song a different meaning, or maybe I should say it gives some background. So, yes, that song, and her own 'Born This Way' were meant to convey political messages, without a political speech. And even if the song had no other meaning, there was bad blood between Woody Guthrie and Donald Trump's father, so I'm sure it wasn't subtle to Donald Trump, and everyone's cheering for her must have irked him. I haven't always been a fan of her performances and style (G strings and meat dress), but I enjoyed her half-time show, especially the light show. I don't watch the Super Bowl--didn't even know who was playing until the day before--so I caught it on YouTube. I find 'Bad Romance' to have a very catchy tune, so I'm glad she included that one. She is immensely talented and focused.

Lady Gaga has grown and matured while working with Tony Bennett as a mentor. She hasn't worn any of the crazy, freaky outfits since Tony took her under his wing. Lady Gaga is also known for her stance on bullying. She promotes non-bullying among people. I read an article about her where she said she was bullied in school because she was 'different,' artistic and quirky. She has the last laugh now among the kids who bullied her.
