Blueberry - halftime check?
Comments (30)Just checking in. I'm guessing Misty is earlier than Southmoon as many of her blossoms (?) are swelling. (Misty on left; SM on right.) They swell when they're blue, versus many of the Southmoon's blossoms are turning a pink/blue pretty color but NOT swelling at this time. Given the color change, I thought these would be earlier but my plants say otherwise. Should I turn this planter again to keep Misty in the sun since it appears she is earlier? Or leave it..... It's shocking how fast Misty has grown and quite suddenly after remaining quite compact for a couple of months since I planted them in this barrel. It's dense enough that almost none of the actual blossoms/berries are getting any more than dappled sun, at best. While I did the two-to-one-planter more to save space, I am starting to regret having put them in together. Only half the planter gets 6+ hours of sun whereas the inside half gets about 4-5 hours. These plants are THIRSTY these days. After a complete drenching, they seem to be dry on the top 1/3 of soil within 2-3 days now, even though the weather had been pretty relaxed and cool here. I still try to water every 4-5 days, though, in fear of overwatering. I'm getting excited to at least taste one before the birds do. :-) I thought about it every which way and there is no feasible yet effective netting solution I can come up with that would work in this small, cramped balcony full of plants. My best option is to attach netting to the stucco which HOA will do for you here due to the shockingly bold pigeon population, but that would make watering and harvesting my peppers and tomatoes impossible.... So my goal is to try at least one. Aim low, and be surprised, haha. Grace...See MoreUpdate on the best Christmas ever, thanks for the support
Comments (6)Now that the holidays are over I am continuing counseling. I am going to do some work on trying to repress memories and experiences. We have also made the decision to have Rhiannon go to counseling, with the family changes and brother stresses it is affecting her behavivor.I am not sure if there has been abuse but that will also be addressed. Since my brother is still drinking *Friday drunken fight* but now is no longer drinking. I don't feel that I can trust his decision making ability and take that chance with my kids or family. The sad thing is my family is blaming me for his drinking and bringing up all the issues, they would prefer to keep them dirty little secrets which isn't okay with me. So keep your thouhts on me and I will keep my knockers up:) Stacie...See MoreMy first ever Leaf Show
Comments (25):), OK, thanks for being my straight man. I'm all smiles again. Yes, Van Wade was a huge presence in Midland &glhs. He is greatly missed. Members in the club say Shirley is doing well, considering. She was quite ill last last summer and Van visited her every day she was in care. Club is having annual hosta auction at W&G in August. Yep, Black Swamp posted an Intro here on GW Jan 2017. See link.Black Swamp Hosta....See MoreAre you ever tempted to watch an older show again?
Comments (73)CherryFizz, I watch H&I pretty regularly as well :-) But when I was married I was pretty much force fed all the Star Trek shows....and Battlestar Galactica, Stargate, Babylon 5, etc., etc., etc......so those I now avoid. But I like the other cop shows - NYPD Blues, Nash Bridges. Monk, Jag and The District. And West Wing is available on Netflix, if you get that. I re-watch the entire series every now and again. IMO, one of the best shows to ever appear on TV!!...See More- 9 years ago
