Yet another shoulder thread

I am scheduled for surgery Monday at noon to repair a severe rotator cuff tear. My sister congratulated me on getting a sports injury when I don't play sports! LOL

I had my pre-op appointment yesterday. The surgery is outpatient, so I'll be home Monday afternoon. The doctor recommended taking the week off, so I am. I will wear an immobilizing sling for several days, and continue to use it for 3-4 weeks when I am out and about. Post-op appointment is 2/17; after that I will start physical therapy. It will be several times a week at first, and may be needed for 3 - 4 months. And somehow I have to figure out when I can have PT and still work 40 hours a week. My company medical center has a therapist, so maybe I can work with her.

The good news is, my health insurance is good so the MRI copay was $25 and the surgery copay is $100. Not bad! I don't know how much PT will be yet, but if I can use the company medical center the copay is $5.

I'll keep y'all posted on how it goes!
