Fluors bad for lupus, meniere's, migraine, epilepsy
Comments (6)Hi laa laa, just found your post. I know 7 people with the illnesses mentioned in the title. They can't stay in stores with flors. for very long, and always avoid some particular stores. The wiki site on meniere's mentions fluors as a trigger. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M%C3%A9ni%C3%A8re's_disease Sure glad to hear that your meniere's retreated, at least for a while. It sounds like it got pretty ornery with you. Did you notice any other triggers such as diet? Here's a resource that has clear introductory info on meniere's disease, which most people have never heard of. Over 3 million people have it, and there are several triggers. http://www.meei.harvard.edu/patient/meniere.php Avoidance of the triggers salt [and sodiums, including MSG], alcohol, and caffeine, tobacco too, help. If you go over a VERY low salt intake- like under 200mg - in one meal, and your ear starts buzzing louder, sometimes a hershey bar or two, after that salt, can help. The big info site, that sells vitamins, menieresinfo.com, is honest and thorough. They care and have a lot of detailed info, and good vitamins, but if you contact them, you will get deluged with vitamin sales emails. Thats too bad, because vitamins seem to help, but quality in stores seems to have tumbled. Here's the link: http://www.menieresinfo.com/moretopics.html#travel Some sites have surprising tidbits of info. One medicine, can cause deafness, so you may want to make sure your pharmacist knows you have meniere's. http://books.google.com/books?id=ETMWzoDCqvUC&pg=PA385&lpg=PA385&dq=meniere's+erythromycin&source=web&ots=-PQ-GW3KO_&sig=2Xch1u3J6f9cbkJS_4VVgURAPyQ I think there are a couple of chat sites for inner ear probs. too. If anyone has more, detailed, info, it would be great to have....See MoreSore Throat - Plaquenil for RA
Comments (13)Sore throat is a "rare" side effect of Plaquenil (see link below). I took it for my RA for awhile and had my vision tested every 3 months by an Optomologist due to possibility of blindness. I also took gold shots which I regret. It caused me more health problems. I haven't taken ANYTHING since 1998. I don't take painkillers, anti-inflammatories, etc. I have enough to deal with with the RA that I don't need more health problems caused by these drugs. In fact, I feel better now than I did in 1998! For the person who said she takes Flaxseed oil. My naturopath did not recommend it cuz it's a "rancid oil", as is spinach is rancid too. You are better to take flaxseed as a "seed", not an oil. Also, pineapple is a natural anti-inflammatory as it contains bromelain. If u have high blood pressure, then it's not recommended. I'm amazed at the commercials that advertise RA drugs and tell you the possible side effects..."some cancers have been reported"... who would take them??? Gold shots caused me to become anemic and have possible blood cancer (myloma) cuz it caused my kidneys to leak protein in my blood. Something my rheumatologist failed to tell me! I have to get blood test every 6 months just to check. Nothing is going to take ALL your pain away. You will always have it. You just have to learn to live with it. I've had it for 16 years now. Pain management is a very important part of daily life and makes a huge difference. I know this guy who has RA and has tried all the meds, procedures, etc. He looks fine on the outside, but his insides are finished because of all the drugs. As for me, my hands are crippled up but my insides are fine! Believe it or not, marijuana is the only thing that takes the pain away. Unfortunately, I get paranoid so I don't smoke it. I've tried morhpine, perks, etc. Didn't help! Smoked a joint once and I was able to run a little bit (didn't realise I was LOL), and I was able to walk barefoot without pain in my feet. Believe me, if I wouldn't get paranoid while high, I'd smoke it! It's legal in Canada for medical purposes. Here is a link that might be useful: Plaquenil...See MoreControlling RGB LED lighting with Lutron Radio RA2
Comments (13)If a RadioRA2 solution is required, the cleanest approaches are either On/ off RadioRA2 switch + separate controller to handle both dimming and color variation. Grafik eye + DMX. The programming of the color variation is done when the scene is programmed. The Grafik Eye route may cost more upfront, but could be more cost effective for complicated lighting setups. None of the COTS (Commercial Off The Sheif) controllers work with variable input. However, a determined hobbyist could create a solution with sufficient time, effort and materials. The downside will be that the final solution could end up costing as much as the Grafik Eye (if you include the failed prototypes, time, ...) As for controlling dimming with a RadioRA2 system, you could use a smart phone (with the appropriate software, assuming the main repeater is connected to the home network), a Lutron Pico or wire up a remote RadioRA2 dimmer. RadioRA2 (like Caseta) is proprietary to Lutron and all actions are performed by communicating to the main repeater....See MoreAnyone With RA? Slipper Question
Comments (22)maifleur01 "Something to ask her about is the amount of pain when she bends or straightens her ankles and feet." Great point. For a couple hours after she wakes up she's walking on her heels because joints are stiff and it hurts to flex her ankles. I hadn't thought of flex restriction and was focused on keeping ankle joints warm. We'll start with slides and see how she does. Thank you for pointing this out! CindyMac "I have psoriatic arthritis." The rheumatologist found high RA factor & antibodies but said he can't test in same way for psoriatic but same treatment would apply. She developed psoriasis after her first autoimmune attack which was on her kidneys after simple viral infection. I know both types of arthritis can be concurrent but she doesn't want to hear about more things to deal with so I have to tread lightly which isn't in my overprotective DNA. Nephrologist in hospital said the attack on her kidneys was aggressive so we had to get biopsy and 2nd opinion with very narrow specialist quickly which confirmed 3 autoimmune conditions/effects & she had to go 9-12 months on 1x month chemo, steroids and a couple other things I can't remember now. She lost 25% kidney function so I'm always on the lookout for any change in her behavior or habits because her particular autoimmune condition can pop up in any organ. I'll always be the hypervigilant aunt. Boy, one can think it's limited in numbers but once you experience it in your own family it seems like you meet so many people with RA and other autoimmune conditions. Sorry so many of you suffer this pain....See Moreravencajun Zone 8b TX
