Soil under my raised bed

3 years ago I built my raised bed and placed it on my lawn where I flipped over the grass. The soil where my grass grows is below average with a lot of small gravel like rocks (I think when they were building the house and driveway they just spreader the remaining gravel over the yard).

The soil in my 11" bed is all organic and I keep adding compost twice a year.

My question is about the soil under the bed and if the organic soil in the bed has any positive impact on it. Is the soil below getting any better?

I read that some plants such as tomatos have root systems as deep as 24" so they would be reaching the soil under my raised bed.
