I think it's thirsty, I think water once every other month is too little, I water mine at least once a month. Also, tho' I'm a great one for neglect for the plants (esp some succulents that like that), I don't interpret that as total neglect w/no care at all.

Those roots coming out the bottom of pot are a bit of a problem. I suspect that soil is spent after year & a half. Is the soil hard to the touch?

If mine, I'd unpot, check the roots & tubers, which I don't know if you know abt.

I'd get fresh new mix Cactus & Succulent soil & a bag of Perlite. Mix equal parts of the 2, & repot to improve drainage. (If you like, post pix of the cleaned up roots before repotting & I'll see what to suggest based on the bare root pix). It can stay of of mix a day or 2 while dry. Remove any dry, brittle or crunchy roots you may find. You may also find what looks like small potatoes, those are the tubers, act sort of as roots.

I think the curled leaves are thirst, not a seasonal thing. They just need some care, but should be fine.

Yes, your plant is very thirsty and in need of a repot. Even though they have a somewhat succulent nature, they don't like going for extended periods of time without water. Once a month is about the most I would go in between waterings. I have gone longer with mine, but yours is still small and in need of a little more care than a full grown ZZ plant.

Your ZZ plant looks much happier now. Way to grow! Your second ZZ looks very happy as well. I took one of the small leaflets and managed to root it last year. It developed a nice sized tuberous rhizome that went dormant over the winter. Well, it started to show signs of new growth, so I gave it to my sister for her to plant and grow her own. As for mine, it won't stop growing, HaHa! Last summer it sent out two dozen new leaves, and then over the winter, it sent out another dozen more. They haven't reached full size just yet, but they're getting there. Although they are somewhat thinner than the summer leaves, I think that they will be much taller.
