Need finishing touches in living room
Comments (54)Thanks to everyone for all your help! Yes I am in Louisiana and fans are de rigeur here. But honestly, I never use the fan in the living room except when I mop the floor so it dries faster. Now in the bedrooms, fans are a necessity because I can't sleep without one. I love some of the mockups of the lights. I really think now that removing this "glare bomb" fan will go a long way to reducing the ugly yellowish cast to the room. The fan really does not go with the decor at all. I love transitional style with MCM and even maybe a little Hollywood Regency glamour and chinoiserie mixed in, and that Victorian style fan definitely looks like it belongs in an 1890's parlor! Now I have to find the right light. I really love the look of drum shade pendants, but I have noticed they don't give off that much light because the shade blocks most of it. I guess I will have to start looking. BTW, there is no coral in the rug. It is a brown color. Guess maybe it appears that way in the pictures....See MoreWhere to find panel track headrail for sliding panels?
Comments (12)I think there's some confusion about what I'm asking -- not panel curtains. Track panel blinds. They are kind of like vertical blinds but come out of an Asian design. They need a special track, which I am having a very hard time finding after hours of searching google. They can't use a regular curtain track. GrandmaOf3, I see that JC Penney used to sell something like this under "Cindy Crawford"(?) It looks like the fabric panel parts are being liquidated on ebay and I don't see this on their site. I will poke around further, thanks! Looking at this photo ... does anyone then know of anyone selling just the headrail for this kind of system? Thanks again....See MoreWhere Can One Buy Replacement Glass Panes/Panels for Outdoor Lights?
Comments (12)I have the same question. The problem is we have an outdoor covered walkway connecting our garage to our house and it has 4 hanging coach lamp pendant lights that were installed 30 years ago when we build the garage. I would hate to have to replace 4 light fixtures because I have one broken pane of beveled glass. And this model, while classic, is similar, but not identical to ones made today. I think the answer must be to go to a local glass company to have a replacement made, as I am coming up empty on trying to find ready made ones....See MoreHelp me with finishing touches! Lamps, artwork and drapes
Comments (18)Thanks for all these great suggestions. I did buy larger table lamps and am expecting a new floor lamp shortly. I also ordered a large square print to hang above the couch. I hung the abstract print next to the bay window. (I'm still waiting for linen draped and cornices). But it's coming along nicely. Thank you for your helpful feedback! Here are some updated pictures....See More- 7 years ago
