How do I get rid of the toilet waterline rings?
Comments (17)I always have a large supply of elbow grease on hand for everything BUT the toilet... I hate sticking my hand in it... lol For really tough stains I use The Works bowl cleaner... I dump a bucket of cold water in the bowl to 'push' most of the water out and squirt in a good amount of cleaner, swish it around and let it sit over night then flush it all away in the morning... The rest of the time I use either bleach or distilled vinegar... The upstairs bathroom gets little use and there's heat vent next to the toilet and in the winter I some times get a ring of mold... I just pour in some bleach and that takes care of it... As for the vinegar, I use that once a month in all my drains, I pour a cup in every sink and toilet and let it sit over night... I use about a quart in the floor drains too... It cuts the grease and mineral deposits, it even deodorizes, and it's cheap... LOL Rita...See MoreDid you receive an engament ring, do you still have that one?
Comments (30)I'm weird, I guess - I rarely wear my ring. DH and I were "shacking up" at the time, and one day I told him in no uncertain terms that if I was to keep living with him, I ought to at least have an engagement ring, for heaven's sake. He agreed. We were poor folks, and I had a credit card, so we shopped and put my engagement ring on my credit card. Romantic, huh? We bought the kind that fit into the wedding ring, which we bought at the same time, but he kept that in a box in his dresser. The engagement ring had one "big" diamond and one "small" diamond, and the wedding ring had the other "small" diamond to mirror the engagement ring. They're not worth more than $200 all together, but who cares? I'm not a materialistic person. We've got diamonds and rings. About 2 years later, we had a modest, but very nice wedding. I got the two rings soldered together. We bought a plain gold band for him. He wears his every day, and after these 9 years, he can't take it off without a lot of effort and hasn't really tried. I got out of the habit of wearing mine during my 1st pregnancy when my hands swelled. I bought a plain gold band to wear instead, and would wear it as a wedding ring now (it'd have to be re-sized) but he says no, it's not our wedding ring. I find the diamond stuff gets in the way, and I only wear it when I go out somewhere special or care that people see that ring on my finger. As I said, I'm not a materialistic person. We could afford to get bigger diamonds now, I guess, but who cares? Why spend all that money on a freakin' rock?...See MoreDo You Wear Your Rings All The Time?
Comments (34)I use to wear them all the time then gained some weight and they were too small.Kept thinking I'd have them sized but put it off because I was trying to lose weight.Put them in my jewelry box.Someone took them and pawned them, along with DH's matching wedding band.I found out where they were and went to get them and they wanted Almost $500. for them! So I put them on lay away and had paid over $350. on them.Went to get them and the pawn shop had changed hands and the new owner had sold them.Made me sick! Not only did I lose the rings but lost what I had already paid on them. So I really don't have a wedding set now.I do have a blue topaz and sterling silver set that looks like an wedding band and engagement ring.I also have a silver band with Dolphins on it that I wear on my left thumb and a silver fillagree dome ring that I wear on my right hand but wear them only when I go out....See MoreDo quartz counters get white rings too or just granite?
Comments (16)I have hardwater. Living in the Granite state means most water is truly hard here. We brush our teeth with pebbles. I use a water softner and water filter for the entire house. I have a dark Jet Mist granite that never shows water marks. And I have no calcium build up in showers, sinks etc...Oh and my hair feels fab but I have no teeth. Get a water softner, Rev Osmosis and filter if you are truly worried about it. Here is a link that I think talks about Quartz issues. I can see by your recent posts you are really struggling with this choice. You are not alone. Everyone tries to find the best option. Please know I am not familar with this company just interested in what they wrote. They sell stuff so please ignore that and just look at the information for your choices. ~boxerpups ....... "Unfortunately, once a substance gets into the binding resin of the (quartz) countertop and stains... nothing can be done. Yes, I know Silestone markets their countertops as "stain proof," but as I've tried to warn people on this site... it is still possible to stain and damage Silestone and every other type of quartz countertop. It can be very difficult to do and Silestone is still an excellent surface, but the drawback vs. granite is that once damaged nothing can be done. Granite can always be repaired or restored and stains can be removed. This is one of the reasons why when asked "which is the best" I always answer "granite." .... http://www.countertopspecialty.com/sealing-silestone.html Here is a link that might be useful: Countertop Specialty...See Moreromogen
