I've always loved that painting. I can't answer your questions about the printer/ink, but all of the prints appear to be creased in the middle. Is that an optical illusion? I wouldn't think that print would be hard to find elsewhere (if he isn't able to correct the issues).

Lizabeth - No, that middle crease is actually supposed to be there. It was on the original found photo.

The crease from shipping can be seen in the lower left corner of the first photo of three I posted. The light catches this actual crease easily. The shipping crease vs. the original center crease (that's actually flat because it's a print) makes the photo look like an obvious print if that makes sense.

Maybe the guy is color blind? :) I like all three of them. I wouldn't contact him anymore and just choose the one you want to hang.

Don't worry about it being an obvious print. I highly doubt anyone who comes to your home will think "Oh, that's a print, how tacky!" lol. On my photo wall, two of the pictures have gotten more compliments than the others. One is a Christmas card I sent out, the other is an inexpensive print I stumbled upon that reminded me of my boy's when they were little.

True. I'm sure nobody that comes to my house will gasp in horror at the 'print' but the real crease does bother me very much. That's the one I would still hang since it works best in the frame. Over time I'll pay less attention to the crease. Makes me think of the black paint smear on my one shower curtain. I pay no attention to it now.

Well darn! Yes, he should be aware of the color differences. HAve you tried putting the one with the crease in a frame to see how it looks? I saw that same print on etsy, I believe it's printed on canvas. Hmmm, it might have been ebay. I love that print also.

Google Springer Spaniel or Field Spaniel prints and maybe you can find another one.

Which reminds me, the first time I saw that breed I was in the woods standing under a tree, and the most beautiful dog appeared out of nowhere. It was a SS! I'm sure the dog's house was close by.

Great picture, but I have to sayy Epson printer is an ink-sucking piece of junk. I can't wait for DH to screw his own print job up so we can replace it.

Can't your vendor send the file so can print at a proper print center on textured paper?

It looks like a setter (English?) to me, but what do I know about dog breeds?

As nice as the print is (in whatever tone you prefer), I would look for either the same thing or something similar without a big flaw running down the center. It would really bother me.

Would it be possible to mount the print on something like poster board where you could glue the area that was creased in the mail? If you are keeping all three prints, you could experiment with the the one you like the least and see if it is glueable.

Or could you take the wrinkled one to a print shop and just have them copy it for you? Then the crease won't show.

Odd that the same printer would allegedly render such different results, but I suppose the first one could have been printed where an ink color was almost out and therefore weak. Are all prints done on the same weight/type of paper?

Since you've only spent $10 and the guy seems to be really trying, my approach would be similar to olychick's. I'd contact him to show him the results (he should be aware) and then I'd tell him not to bother trying again. lol! Then I'd take the 'pink' version that you dislike and I'd crease it just like in the first print, and then I'd tackle trying to eliminate the crease... I'd try ironing it first... dry iron first, then if that didn't work I'd try w/ steam. Purpose being to practice for figuring out the best way to handle the first print that you do like.

I just realized how goofy some probably think I am for saying I'm bothered by a small crease when there's a a HUGE one right down the middle! For whatever reason that just doesn't bother me. I feel like it adds a little character.

Like I said I didn't ask for another. I wanted him to see the color difference and also wanted to put the ball in his court. He apologized and said he wasn't sure what was the deal with that print. He then offered to send another or refund me. I responded asking if he tried to color correct or if it was because the ink was full. He didn't directly answer and said he was working on it now and sending another one out today (yesterday) since the mail didn't come yet. He said the print matched his screen exact last time and he thought he had it. I don't feel like looking up his exact wording right now but you get the point. I had a feeling since it was so green he did some altering.

Even though it's still not right he's been very good about everything. I was going back to tell him not to worry about it and he already was done. Very fast. Hopefully it's good!

The paper weight is all the same. Oh, it would look very nice on textured paper!

I have an Epsom and I'll agree it seems to be an ink suck. I was surprised how fast we were out of ink because we really don't print much.

Experimenting with the others is a good idea. I wouldn't have thought of ironing. I'll let you know the outcome!

Ah, thank you Tina. I'm glad to know who the artist is. I bought this one from Etsy. I see on ebay they have textured canvases in larger sizes for good prices. I really like the frame I found though. The reason I waited so long to purchase one was because I couldn't figure out where to put it or what size. After finding the frame the decision seemed obvious to me.

Not goofy by my standards! :O) I'd protect it with tissue paper, a towel, or something like that when you try to iron it.... and start with a lower setting on the iron first, then go higher if it seems necessary. Hope it works!

You can actually iron paper....it works rather well. I would test it out first by creasing one of the "off color" prints just to make sure the ink doesn't get damaged. Use low heat and iron the backside and if you are really worried, use a pressing cloth between the iron and the paper. It helps if you use something solid behind the print (sometimes the ironing board is too squishy -- if you have a granite counter or something that can take the heat, that tends to work better.) I've never tried to iron something printed by inkjet though, so that's why I would definitely test with one of the other prints that you don't plan to use.

I ordered some cardstock signs from ebay a while ago and the seller only used thin cardboard to sandwich them so of course they got dented very similar to yours in the mail. My seller never responded to me at all, so I decided to just iron the creases out and hang the signs. You can still see the creases (cardstock is harder to iron than paper) but it is much better than it was -- you have to really be looking for them now to see them.
