Catt tales... or how I am trying to revive this one
Comments (6)Alberta is correct Alexa on the catt in bark. Jam the oldest pbulb/rhizome on the edge of the pot so the new growth has room to grow for a couple of years. After repotting a catt, I don't water for a week to let the wounds heal, then resume a regular schedule. You do not have to sterilize your cutting tools between each cut :>) Sterlize after you are finished with the plant. You still need to stabilize the plant in the pot. You don't want the plant wobbling when you move it. If you don't have a rhizome clip, use a couple of stakes (bamboo skewers work great) put one on each side of a pbulb and then use twist ties to tie the stakes together or the pbulb to the stake. Once the new roots grow, you can remove the stakes. And the most important thing to remember, these are tough plants that want to survive regardless of what we do to them. Comments (178)Not really bathroom related, but yet another tale for those who love stories about MrG - we are in the process of finishing off the rest of the useable basement (all of it minus the utility) and MrG has reared his ugly head yet again - remember wayyyyy back at the beginning of this adventure when I talked about the wavy concrete floor - OMG. So the rest of the basement is going to be loads of fun. It's out of level over an inch in quick checks - problem being it's too high in those spots - compared to where we will meet at the doorway (now beautifully tiled) to the laundry room. No, I will not let Mr.Hunzi break out and replace the concrete - we all know how that turned out last time, the end result may have been lovely, but the 10yr wait and the 3yr process is just too much for a second round of that sort of fun. ;-) And the future flooring is lovely, not inexpensive heart pine - unless I have to find an alternative to accommodate the Ghost of MrG. For lottery ticket and enduring and nancy who kept me company through the whole saga of bathroom and dirt before - come over and offer your wisdom at the home decorating forum - which is where I thought might fit best for the Studio Pink Babe Cave Adventure!...See MorePicking paint and the tale of 2/3
Comments (38)I want to thank everyone here that has helped with paint colors since this whole saga started. I can't thank you all enough. It's been so nice to have someone who actually has an opinion. I think I like more warm, and I know Mr. MM certainly does, but in the end, I just want the color to look nice. Moosup Valley and Copperidge are both darker colors and I wasn't sure if they were too bold. Both definitely match some of the colors in the bricks. Copperidge has more orange and Moosup has more pink or purple or just brown (I'm not really sure what I'm seeing lol). They both have a dusty pinkish/burnt orange look though. I'll probably get a sample of both. There were a few colors similar to both that I like better by themselves, but most look too pink or purple up next to the brick I think. Even if Copperidge is too bold for the kitchen, I can paint it in the dining room, at least I know it coordinates. And there's always that good chance that it will look absolutely nothing like the chip and it will be just like the green that I was so in love with. I'm just going to buy samples of all of the colors that might look good. I wish pictures and monitors would show the true colors that I'm seeing as I stand in there. Today is a lot sunnier, I might go try some of the SW colors too. raee- definitely no yellows. Comments (28)Celtinne, thanks for the good wishes. :) I don't actually set my own to my moods, but when it's being Eeyore, I do sometimes go and change it. Eeyore is cute (and my favorite second to Pooh, really), but his outlook can be a downer. :) Great haiku. :) Efs, I knew about the no going back for the spray when I bought the Karbon, but it was about the only practical choice for my prep sink and how I was going to be using it. It annoyed me for a few weeks, but it's no big deal. Then, like anything else, I got used to it. Not the kind of used to that's a constant annoyance, but the kind of used to where that's the way it is and I don't notice anymore. The annoyance that doesn't go away is that it won't spray (dribble) on a very low amount of water....See MoreRelated Professionals
