goodbyekitty I also use a chief architect version. Size the display because the pic will save as this size. To save any display as a pic (floorplan or render): Click file, then hover over export 2 options display, choose picture. Then follow your normal picture saving procedure, maybe make a new seperate folder for "kit_designs" to save everything in. Save as a jpeg. If you are anything like me you will soon have many options so I would suggest something descriptive in the name and not just kd_1. I also started adding the date to help me know which one I was looking for. ie kd_fridge_near_LR_dec15_1 (view from one side) kd_fridge_near_LR_dec15_2 (view from another angle etc) kd_fridge_near_LR_dec15_fp (floorplan) hope this helps good luck Suz

couldn't you still put a linen closet on the wall outside the 6x7 closet? It looks like there's room there on the other side of the door opening. If the diagram is accurate, of course. That linen closet can be shallow--you can fold towels & sheets, etc., to fit a VERY skinny shelf if you fold them in fourths like this: ________ ________: :________ ________: (fold them in half, then fold the ends back toward the center fold, like an accordion) And you only need about 4" for most cleaning-supply bottles (depending what you want to put there). (You can even make the door be flat, and paint it to look like the wall, and hang pictures on it.) Otherwise--I think you're right about the extra foot making a difference in how many hanging rods you can have. How badly would you need a linen closet, if you can't fit one in the way I mentioned?

Chief Architect is the company name and their professional product. The one I use is $2690. With hindsight, I should have spent more time with the $495 Home Designer Pro but they did credit me the full price against Chief Architect. Their Home Designer is a series of programs from $99 to $495 with various degrees of additional function. Lots of videos with basic training to help you get started. Having two monitors or a second computer to run the video really helps get you started. There are lots of catalogs that are downloadable. If you want to see what a certain Owens Corning roof looks like on your 3-D view, you just download it. I am very familiar with Sketchup, use it several time a week, and it is great for many things. Can't imagine using it for this BUT it can be done. Chief Architect imports things built in Sketchup into your house project. You build a piece of furniture in Sketchup and bring it in as an object in CA/HomeDesigner, and then you can see how it looks.

@Debbi Washburn thank you so much for answering my question about centering the table. It will have all the same flooring etc, as there will be a coffee station on the wall opposite the exterior door that takes up most of the wall with sink, bar fridge, etc. for poolside convenience as well. We have a huge patio out back and the door is the main entrance to our backyard so we need to keep a nice aisle etc. from back door to rest of house. I think we will change out the table for a round one to lighten up all of the rectangles in the space. I think we have room to get a 52" round. We are a family of 5. We will also likely have a working island 6 x almost 3 feet. I know, I know, we have to wait for the KD's plans..but i have a feeling they might be along the same lines. I mean I HOPE they come up with something we haven't thought of that works, but we don't want to move walls either because we LOVE our formal dining room. So I feel like we are kind of limited. (I watch way too much HGTV with all of these massive transformations..LOL).
