It's Friday the 13th but I don't really have an appropriate photo for that. So here's a photo from my walk a couple of days ago on a frosty morning. I think those are fox tracks in the snow.

Jim, have you an identity for your bug? Looks a lot like the Kissing Bug whose bite can be deadly. They have recently been seen in more northern states than normally found. There are some bugs that look very similar to the Kissing Bug, but are harmless.

sabbath, he was overweight and a real bush dweller. He wasn't comfortable in trees, so when I put him on the limb, he wasn't anxious to move. But he was comfortable enough to look around for a few minutes. He was a beautiful cat, but the weirdest creature I ever owned. My nutty little Mila, and she is nutty, is a peach by comparison.

Such beautiful black cats....I love them, although I no longer have any. I content myself with petting my friends' cats, LOL.

Our last black cat, now long-gone for almost a decade, was a Burmese mix. One of the largest, longest short-haired cats I've ever seen. When he went up on his hind legs, he could easily touch the top of a 36-inch high kitchen cart with his front paws.

One day he was lying on our Chinese rug, stretched out fully, and I caught him in full-length mode. It looks fake, but he really was big - a full 16.5 lbs.

sabbath, not sure why he was so weird, but he was, and a biter. DH tried to move him off a chair and he sank his teeth into the back of DH's hand. Six weeks of antibiotics including 2 weeks of intravenous antibiotics through a pic line at the hospital and DH was back to normal...

There was very little that was normal about him. But we loved him anyway and he was with us for 16 years before he died of kidney failure.
