Comments (57)Kudos to teacats and bbstx. We are renovating a very old house and have been taking pics before, during and after every room project.(down to the studs and everything in between). We use a "cloth" crafters measuring tape-looks like a tailors tape-that is 10' long in all of the photos, very convenient to find studs, electrical and plumbing later when it is all covered up. Also, with all of the finished room measurements it is easy to bring along the pictures when looking at furniture and other "stuff" for it.Tapes are cheap too about a buck at Micheals. Also we use a nifty program from Benjamin Moore that lets you insert your room photos into it and "paint"the room and trim from their colors-Note,the colors will not be exact to the true colors due to monitor variations-but we have found it very handy. You can also hang fabric swatches in the room and work around them with color combinations.Think it was around $10.00 several years ago for the download but has saved us a lot of time narrowing down colors and or fabric. Cheers...See MoreWhat is your favourite tip for Christmas Decorating?
Comments (47)Thank you again everyone for your wonderful pictures and virtual descriptions. I am not sure if I can get a bow around Buddy or for that matter if he wouldn't eat it before I got a picture. Whenever I take pictures of something in the house or outside he seems to get himself right in the way. It will be fun trying. I had a very good day yesterday. I put up my fibre optic tree and hung mirror and faux crystal ornaments. Did put my bows on the chairs. Tied bows around my lamps and I will finish the black tree today along with some other things that came to me overnight when I woke up at 2:00am to let the dog out. I even brought out things I haven't used and have had for many years. This year DS's Lego has been relocated per request by him to the Living Room which means that the tree will be in the family room. It will be a little different and as always the Lego will clash with all the purple. lol. He told me he would put it away till after Christmas, but I told him it was okay. It was a minor thing. Off to finish the tree. Linda...See MoreChristmas Decor or Fall Decor???
Comments (34)The weekend after Thanksgiving everything changes to Christmas in our family. Always has. We have 2 grandchildren whos birthdays are Christmas eve, we wind up putting up balloons and multicolored streamers in the dining room, its comical, because all around the rest of the house its Christmas. Its the way it turned out, this is the season they were born in. Since its the start of Christmas season go for it, I would wait on putting up the tree though. I agree with others, silver and golds and sparkles would really bring in the festive elegant glow an anniversary party should have anyway....See MoreTwo Story foyer paint color dilemma
Comments (17)@Teresa F - Love your DR paneling and chair rail. I feel your pain, I had exactly the same challrnge but because we DIY’ed the painting, having a contractor awaiting my decision was not an issue. We bought a sheet of drywall, primed it then cut into smaller squares, maybe 18”. I had quarts of several colors mixed and painted them onto individual drywall panels. Doing this enabled me to transport colors around the room in day/night, sun/cloudy lighting for several days. I compared with flooring and furniture too. You can also apply color options onto the walls. You’ll get there....See Morededtired
