Do I smell black-eyed peas cooking?

Who's cooking their black-eyed peas for midnight and for tomorrow? I bought a nice meaty ham hock and simmered it until the meat fell off the bone. Since it's just me, I cheated and bought two cans of Glory seasoned canned black-eyed peas. I added he ham to that, lots of black pepper, a bit of brown sugar, a tiny bit of chopped onion (love it but it doesn't love me so must use it sparingly), and a couple of ladles of the ham hock broth. SO good! I'll eat a small cup at midnight, and then have the rest for dinner tomorrow night with cornbread, drenched in butter and honey!
