That is Aeonium. It is normal for some old leaves to periodically dry up, shrivel and fall off. The leaves on the plant look quite droopy - it may be actually under-watered?

Can't tell from the photo, but is there a drainage hole in that container? The potting mix could be improved on IMO. Can you tell what is the potting soil consisting of? I also think plant could use more light.

It's possible that we underwatered at at first, sice the seller told us to barely water at all in the winter time.

Then I read to water until the soil is quite wet and then let it dry out completely. So we've been doing that for a little bit.

Yes there are holes at the bottom. The soil was the soil the plant came with. I don't know what it consists of, I don't know much about that sort of thing yet.

True, there is not much light at this time of year in Austria, but the plant is in a well lit spot in our apartment.

This plant generally is active in Winter, it's summer in which in goes largely dormant (tends to close up its leaves to tight ball). Seems your vendor doesn't really know what they're talking about for these plants.

I don't think these are good candidates for indoor growing. I've only seen these do well as outdoor plants in So. Calif.

Imontestella could be right, but you want to do the best you can for the plant. If you can keep it going until spring, it will love being outdoors for the summer.

It looks to me as though it's in a pot which is in another pot. Is that correct? If so, I've never felt succulents benefit from that set-up. It needs to be in it's own pot, not in a second pot. You are correct to water only when dry, then water until it runs out the holes in the bottom of the pot.

Continue to put it in your sunniest window, even move it during the day if possible.

You could repot which would give you an opportunity to see what soil it is in. Not sure what products you have available in your part of the world. but here we use a mix of cactus & succulent potting mix combined 50/50 with perlite. You want a fast draining mix, avoiding small particles which to slow the pass-through of water.

I do have few indoors. They are growing well, but obviously will never be as big and lush as grown in ground. I use lots of supplemental lights and that helps. Your plant would benefit from some extra light.

Lena is right, they go dormant in high temps - usually July, August in your climate.

I would also improve on soil, if possible. Adding some perlite will make it more 'airy' and faster draining.

If you plan on repotting, consider making a fast-draining mix. I use mix of grit, perlite and turface only for all my succulents. If you have source of pumice, it is great instead of perlite (not so easy to find for me). This will make gravely-gritty mix, that is well draining and also has great aeration. In a mix like that, plant can be watered about 1x every 4-5 days (depends on how warm it is).

It is best to water succulents thoroughly, and then let the potting mix dry up. In fast-draining mix, all excess water will run out. Particulates that make the mix will hold enough water for the plant, without it sitting in saturated soil, with 'wet feet'.

If you can't get the ingredients, or do not want to bother, mixing about 50% (could be more) of perlite (or pumice) with soil will do. Or you can look for LECHUZA-PON. Great mix, from Germany, you probably can get it easily in Europe: -Lechuza-Pon - click me-
