Comments (82)I'm still waiting for a response from the Contractor, who has been sick the last few days, and I am still pushing for the HW Vision Pro IAQ Stat to be installed. Another question. I am thinking about going with the Air Handler with Heat Strips as the backup system to the Heatpump, instead of having the Gas Furnace. The main reasons for going with the Air Handler and Heat Strips is because the Effeciency ratings are actually higher for the Heatpumps with this configuration, and according to the Contractor the Air Handler and Heat Strips are less complex and should have fewer problems. My question is two fold. 1 - Do you agree with that statement and do you think going with the Air Handler and Heat Strips over the Gas Furnace is a good idea? 2 - Any feedback on what we can expect for the Heat that the Heat Strips put out, vs what we would have with the Gas Furnace? My wife is not thrilled with the so called "Heat" from our existing Heatpump, but that should be better with these new Heatpumps. But she Loves the Warmth of the Gas Furnace when that kicks in, and she wants to make sure that we aren't giving that up by going with Heat Strips vs the Gas Furnace. So any additional advice and input would be greatly appreciated since we have no experience with Air Handlers and Heat Strips as a backup heat source. Comments (122)yes have electric 3 yrs old & propane fueled 7 yrs old in different homes. no issues w doors (except to adapt to left closing). both perform well. electric more bells whistles being newer.. digital and pizza stone. however on advice on tech (we had 1 svc call for faulty thermostat ez repair but they pulled entire panel and replaced), pizza stone carefully removed, stored. this way oven heats and cools faster. note that neither throws excessive heat into space. trade off is a fan running to aid slow deliberate cool down. this might annoy in an open space eat in kitchen. our fan friendly oven is installed in walk in pantry utility room that houses freezer and extra refrig (main kitchen has 30" Leibherr)...See MoreFertilizers in houseplants vs nutrients in hydroponics
Comments (139)Thanks, I got the idea from a couple of youtubers to make a stand so I could use the light I had. mhpgardener did a video showing how he made his, and I just copied him, except made it the right size for my light and cooler. My hubby made the cuts, and our daughter and I put it together. We have several leftover pieces(bought contractor packs of fittings), so the next one will be cheaper to make :) The plant is a Tam jalepeno(a little milder than standard jalepenos). (this is an offspring of a plant I bought a couple of years ago) We like to eat the "mezetta tamed jalepenos" and these are the same kind they use, I think. They taste so much better than anything you can buy if you let about half of them turn red before canning them. Out of this world flavor! Can you tell I am looking forward to ripe pickled peppers? I agree, there is something so special about being able to grow during winter! Hopefully my little plants will like their new setup! It sure makes it easier to get the smaller seedlings right up under the lights in the grow box, when the larger plants aren't hogging it all!...See MoreHeadboard vs. Bed
Comments (38)The language of feng shui may sound a little woo-woo to those of us with a Western education and mindset, but from my limited reading about it, a lot of it seems firmly rooted into the psychology of how we relate to spaces and objects (real or perceived), sometimes rooted in a very primitive part of our brains. Like when my bed was oriented so my head was opposite the door. Or sleeping underneath an object or architectural feature that give the impression it could fall on you....See MoreMimou-GW
