My mother had Albertine trained over an arch in my childhood garden. I loved it's profusion and it's fragrance. When I left home to live and work in London, I didn't even have a window box with my little bed-sit. My mother gave me a catalogue by Graham Stuart Thomas called The Manual of Shrub Roses. I poured over this little booklet for years before I ever saw any of the roses in the flesh. His descriptions made me yearn for the roses. Just for example his entry for Celine Forestier reads; One of the heirlooms of the past that we gardeners must not lose. Attractive foliage and fairly strong growth. Needs and deserves good soil, and a warm wall. The double flowers, opening wide and flat with quilled and quartered petals and beautiful button eyes, are exquisite in their silky pale yellow. Intense spicy,Tea fragrance, powerful and delicious. Daisy

If I was going to seam it, I would probably do it right in the center, or use a piece around each sink and one in the middle...something that looks intentional rather than putting it at one side.

celineike - Please don't let my nervousness worry you. I am sure it is fine. It is just a good bit of money to tie up on my credit card if there is a problem and maybe it makes me overly cautious. Hope it works out for you.

OK, I have uploaded all my pictures and written most of my comments down twice now and had issues where safari reloaded and wiped out my post making me start over. Im going to do this in 3 or 4 seperate posts in case it happens again so I wont have to start over completely. My pineapples are doing great. I tried to force them to fruit about four weeks ago there is absolutely no sign of success. I have read that it can take up to six weeks to flower after doing the "apple technique" but I'm thinking it didnt work. The One in the middle was just planted a couple days ago and is already getting new leaves. I'm probably going to need to transplant the larger one to a bigger pot or into the ground soon. My wisteria is doing much better now that I put shade cloth on the west side of it. The people at Moonvalley nursery I still swear to me that it can be a good vine for my pergola and can take the sun as long as I establish a good deep root system but it just seems like the foliage might be too delicate for our sun. If anyone has seen these take full sun or live on top of the Pergola in our area Id love to know about it. I may need to just end up replacing it with Tangerine crossvine.
