Holiday Gifts for the Herbalist in Your Life
Comments (5)Oh there are so many things. A few that I like to receive and give are: 1) Herb Books, including Herbal Cookbooks; 2) Herb Magazine subscriptions; 3) Herbs, seeds and clippings; 4) Gardening gloves and tools; 5) Pots and potting soil; 6) Membership to the American Herb Society or any local botanical garden; 7) Herbal Teas with a nice tea cup; 8) Herbal Soaps, Bath Salts, lotions, candles, etc.; 9) Hand made herbal blends for teas, cooking and/or baths; Herbal vinegars, oils and butters; . . .and the list can go on and on! And it's always helpful to provide information with the gift on how to use it. Lots of people out there are afraid of herbs because they don't know how to use them. Comments (9)Oh how I wish I'd done this all these years! It would be wonderful to read about past Christmas' times, especially now all my kids are grown with their own children! The only thing I've done the last few years is keep a list of gifts given to family and friends, as my memory stinks and I don't want to repeat gifts. As of last year, I also am keeping a list of where I've stored stuff. With things scattered around closets in the house, bins under my bed, bins in garage and storage shed, I now want to know exactly WHAT is WHERE. This year I am going to list and photograph my Christmas decorations as I unpack stuff, and am getting pictures of new purchases of course. As you know I take pictures of my house decorated, but I'd rather have better organized photos of collections and ornaments. (Maybe if I look at my photos this time NEXT year, I'll do less impulsive buying. I love Christmas things too much, LOL. Hard to resist.) I am going to suggest to my grown kids to think about starting journals while they still have young ones! hugs, Karen...See MoreLast minute gift

Comments (35)We are a BJs family because the store is closer to us and less jammed packed so I also took advantage of a few easy-button menu items: frozen mini-quiches and a premade cheese/meat/cracker platter for appetizers; a large bag of peeled, cooked frozen shrimp that only require thawing, a giant bag of frozen peas and of course several bottles of wine that are cheaper than at regular stores. My dad surprised us with an Omaha Steaks combo package so lots of easy pre-frozen steaks, chops and kielbasa that only have to be tossed on the grill-I bought a few more steaks to be sure we have enough but again, simple simple simple. Pre-mixed baby greens/spinach salad to which I'll add shredded cheese, walnut bits and grape tomatoes (all purchased already shredded/bitt-ed and tomatoed :), potatoes for baking and frozen loaves of garlic bread to heat up. For dessert I bought a bakery apple pie, DIL's bringing a chocolate cream pie, SIL's bringing cookies and the Omaha Steaks combo included a cheesecake so all set there. We even have a Keurig at the house so I don't even have to make after dinner coffee! My daughter got inspired and made a batch of coquito and I've got the makings for pina coladas as well as various other booze and mixers and of course tons of soda and water. I plan to hang out, enjoy myself and NOT spend Christmas catering my own holiday LOL. Merry Christmas to all who celebrate it, and warm blessings to everyone regardless of your spiritual path....See Morerhizo_1 (North AL) zone 7
