Lovely story. And a small way to PIF (Pay-it-forward) is to try a daily RAK (Random act of kindness). Little things like paying for the coffee for the person behind you in line, buying military personel a meal, putting money towards the groceries of the person behind you in line. My kids and I have tons of fun trying to come up with ideas for unique RAKs but we are not too inventive. Your daughter could PIF by taking portraits of people who would otherwise be unable to afford this luxury. What about baby pictures at an inner city hospital? I have to agree with Lowspark. I drive a SUV, a big one. I pull a trailer with it in the summer, and it's the only tow vehicle we now own. (So I don't get slammed as I have in the past for driving a gas hog!) That said, I wish I had the back up camera, which was not available when we bought it in 2005. I use my mirrors, I turn and look, but there are blind spots, as there are with ANY vehicle. We do have a back up camera in the motor home. What a God send! DH even added a side view camera, as the glass in the door is a frosted privacy glass. When you come to a diagonal intersection, you can NOT see from the driver's seat to check traffic coming from the right. Normally we are both in it so the other checks traffic, but there are times we need that side view camera, either when only one of us is in it, or when checking traffic at highway ramps. For some reason, people no longer think that they have to yeild when they are the ones entering the highway, they think we have to move over to let them on. Well, I have news for them. Some day they will be buying someone else a new vehicle. There are times you just can't be nice and move over for them! Especially driving a large vehicle, SUV or motorhome as examples. Those cameras are great! You might only use it once in a while, but that one time might save a life or a car,no matter how careful you are. Tami

IMO there is no question that reversing into parking spaces is safer. Reverse Parking Could Save a Life Parking in reverse is a simple way to reduce the risk of accidents. I've had great and horrible delivery people. Well, most have been great. Our first USPS delivery guy used to put all out packages in SOs boat that was parked in our carport. He caught me outside one day and asked if that was okay before he started doing it. I thought it was nice of him. My next USPS mail troll was a horrible,decrepit demon named Sandra who wouldn't deliver my packages at all, and eventually refused to even deliver my mail. The people on her route made enough organized scenes at the post office that she was FINALLY removed. I think we were her fifth route. I dont know why she wasn't fired after the first 4 hated her guts too. Perhaps because her husband was the local president of their union. Anyway, she's gone and while the new replacement is not horrible like Sandra was, she tends to leave my packages put in the open, where they can get rained on,or in random spots like in the seat of our go cart or behind something. We sometimes have to pull up footage from our cameras to see where she left them. But no REAL complaints. I guess when you have had the worst thing possible, small annoyances dont bother one as much. The weekend USPS man brings them to the door and puts them on the steps in my carport,which I like. FedEx is hit or miss. They can't seem to keep a consistent driver on this route. Some of them are fine, some of them leave my stuff at my one neighbors house, which is irritating, but not enough to make a fuss over. I love the UPS driver. His name is Bud and SO knows him some way or another. He always brings the packages right to the door. Unless one or the other of is is outside. If it is heavy he will bring it inside for me. If it is something like a car part he will take it down to SOs shop for him,as they tend to be heavy as well.Last time he was here he brought me my fruit trees that I ordered. I was planting azaleas all the way on the other side of my yard and was attempting to take some very heavy bags of jungle growth soil over there on our dolly. He told me to hold on, got his MUCH better dolly, transfered the bags of dirt from mine to his and took them over there for me. With online ordering of everything becoming the norm, and more and more people needed to deliver it, it makes sense that you will get a mix of good,bad and okay. I for one am rather glad that no one knocks or rings the doorbell for deliveries. I am a night minion, sleep during the day on those days I am scheduled to work that night, and wouldn't like very much to be woken up for that one pack of 50 pink heart shaped straws I had to have.......it can wait until I get up.
