If you can't turn it on, how do you know it's still charged? Maybe you left the wifi on and it drained the battery. Have you tried hooking the tablet up to the wall charger and then seeing if you can turn it on? If that fails, it could be a bad battery, or it could have died. Tablets at this price point are low on the quality control scale. Are you still under warranty? As for the Internet access, reviews of this tablet don't give it great marks on connectivity. If you can get it to turn on, try being in the same room with the router to see if that changes things. (You do know how to go into the settings and turn the wireless on, right?) Lastly, if you want a tablet at a reasonable price but without the potential for the types of problems you are having, consider the Kindle Fire. At under $200 bucks you can have something fun, fast, and reliable.

I have had no problems and have had kindles for 2yrs now. That is how it works with kindles and it works just fine. No one but me has ever known my amazon password even before I got the fire and I change it every month. I change a lot of passwords monthly. If your kindle is lost or stolen you log in online and deregister it and let amazon know then no one can buy stuff on your account and it's bricked from someone else being able to register it. Much the same as if your cell phone is lost or stolen. Then if you get a new one you just register it to your account and all your books and apps are on Amazon for reloading onto the new device. I had to have my fire replaced by amazon due to a faulty charging port so this was very convienient for me. Same if you have the kindle reading app your pc or tablet or phone. Any books you buy are stored in your amazon account for reloading if you get a new tablet or pc. Nice thing is if hubby and son get kindles I can register them to my account and they can have access to all the games and apps I bought where as if they got their own accounts they would each have to buy those apps and books separately. Amazon offers one paid app free every day so I have a ton of apps and games I have collected that way like monopoly is $5 but they had it free one day. Also if you belong to amazon prime you not only get the free shipping deal but can borrow one free book a month from the kindle lending library. oh yes you can do all the same email functions you can on your pc, it does use that smaller virtual keyboard but it is larger than a smartphone keyboard. It took me about 2 mins to get my hotmail set up on it and the gmail was even quicker. Plus should you choose to use an app there are a LOT of email apps. I use one called better hotmail on my smartphone. But I just use what came with this tablet. I can come and post here from it too. Same things I do at my pc basically. I really am on my desktop much much less these days because I have this tablet sitting on my table beside my recliner! this one does not come with a case but there are a lot of the sleeve cases that will fit it for pretty cheap. It does do horizontal and vertical views. It has a very responsive touch screen mine takes just taps, it is not quite as responsive as my HTC smartphone but for me it is just right the one on my phone sometimes gets away from me LOL. Janie I don't understand why the kindle app is not wanting to install, I would try uninstalling it from the unit and going to get the app from a different app store. I know the amazon app store has it so that would be a good place to go. When you go to the amazon app store you may have to install their little app installer but then you can just tap on the amazon store icon on your device and go right to the store and download your apps right straight to it. If you have not tried the Aldiko reader app I highly recommend it. Tami it may not come with any email associated with it, I would think they would clear that out before selling it if it is a used one. With my sylvania tablet it did have to do an update as soon as it was charged up and I connected to wifi so my guess is this one would have to do that also, Always a good idea to immediately check for any updates anyway and always do that with it plugged into power! Just in case the battery decides to go dead in the middle of an install (not good)

You have several options: Get an ipad with built in LTE Have a phone with LTE capabilities already and use this as hotspot I personally have an iPad with built in LTE/4G. It works wonderfully. In reality, you can make your smartphone a hotspot and share the mobile signal when you are in an area where wifi is not available. Although the iPad with LTE is about $100 more expensive than the same iPad without, the cell providers like AT&T make it just as expensive to use your smart phone as a hotspot as to activate the LTE service on your ipad. If you want two units that allow you to browse the internet anywhere, get an iPad with LTE. You should be able to add service to the unit from the cell phone carrier that you only pay for when you use it. Mine is part of the mobile share plan for my cell phone so apart from the activation fee, it does not cost me more to use. The iPad with LTE does have an addition functionality which is the upgraded GPS capability so that you can use it as a GPS more accurately. Regarding Android versus Apple, Android is more susceptible to virus because of its open source nature and the fact its Android app store is more prevalent. There are more android users than apple users. Having said that, I think you should go to a best buy or somewhere like that where you can look at both machines and determine which ones work for you. Usability is a huge factor for me. Let money be a secondary consideration. I agree with Rococogurl about the future compatibility of the tablet you pick. Androids don't update much of the Operating System where Apple products are compatible, based on previous history, for about 4 major releases of the OS. This translates to about 3years of support on the existing hardware. I work in IT and implement technologies that use both Android and Apple ecosystems. Good luck!
