Layout help - tiny space and tiny budget!
Comments (3)I'm a little confused by the pictures, not really knowing what's where (that's me tho, no sense of direction) but I can comment on a few things. I think your kitchen is way too small for a corner sink...they take up a lot of space IMO and you'd have to get a new cabinet for it. I really like you existing cabinets and think your could make them look great in a different layout. I'm not sure why you want to squeeze a desk in (is that a desk?). There's also not enough space for an overhang on your proposed peninsula for seating. The dishwasher will be very hard to access from the corner sink as well. I'm sorry I'm only pointing out the problems I see but I don't understand the space well enough to offer any constructive advice. As small as it seems, You have a lot to work with and I think your house is adorable and full of potential. Personally, the deck would be at the top of my list, then the kitchen. I just love to sit outside....See MoreTiny shower, can I steal space from attic if roof line is right there?
Comments (26)The attic is behind the long 5' wall of the tub/shower combo, so stealing space from there makes the new shower wider. Contractor is framing now. I wasn't home today to see first hand, but I think they were able to steal about 14" or maybe a little more. So the shower will be a comfortable width (about 44") and the toilet will have 32" to itself instead of 30." The ceiling had a wierd fur-down, so they took that out and now the ceiling height is 8 feet. They will waterproof the floor. I think Ditra is what my contractor prefers to use on the floor....See MoreExtra space in tiny bathroom
Comments (5)The best use of the space would be a pull out shelves type configuration. Look at Ikea deep pantries which come in 24 inch depth and 15", 18", and 24" widths and can be configured with full extension pull out shelves or drawers. Those hold a surprising amount and you can add your own custom door if desired, as well as trim to make it look built in. Anything deeper will not work unless you have full extension pullout shelves for the full depth but then you are talking custom and probably twice or more the cost of the Ikea ones. https://www.ikea.com/us/en/cat/high-cabinets-23609/?page=2...See MoreRug Size for Tiny Space
Comments (1)Your rug measures 5" x 3" (in metric). That is quite small for a dining room rug. Traditionally a rug under a dining table should be big enough to pull the chairs out (as if you are sitting at the table) and STILL have the feet on the rug. That's what you are looking for under a dining room table. Your Persian rug is more the size to fit underneath a coffee table. It's almost the size of a traditional prayer rug (a bit longer and a bit wider...but same category). It would look pretty in an entrance way/foyer....See Morebpath
