O Tannenbaum, o Tannenbaum!! Show your Christmas Trees!
Comments (57)Thanks Susie :D This cheers me up,too! Hey Kirk, that's what the tree looked like when I was growing up. We planted hundreds and hundreds with our mother it seemed like, even staying out in the woods til well past dark with all sorts of wild animals jumping around at us out there,(back then it was moonshiners you ran into on your property, now it's meth labs) and it was scary when you're only about 6 or 7 years old! I never inherited my mother's ability or want, to wander alone in the woods til wee hours of the morning. After I was married and lived here, we still cut down our own trees, until trespassers stole all of them(to sell, I guess)one year. Some grew back up from the trunks, but we didn't feel like fooling with them any more after that. The smell is great, there's no comparison to a live tree, but we broke down and got an ARTIFICIAL pre-lit one :D lol Too many allergies, they dried out quickly, too. Boy could I tell you some FUNNNNY stories us and the kids endured with live trees ( one year involving a crazy Himalayan cat we had :D ) I can't wait til next Christmas!oh and I see Carol's tree skirt! It's just perfect. Cherry/Kudzu...See MoreShow us your Christmas tree
Comments (37)My tree with son and daughter in law of one year. This was the day before their 1st anniversary and they dressed in clothes they had bought for an anniversary outing at a very snazzy restaurant and we took Christmas pictures for them to send in their Christmas cards. Must have taken 40 pictures, maybe more. My son helped me pick out the tree, my first live one in 4-5 years and it touched the ceiling. You know, when he was a kid and we were picking out trees, they were never big enough for them, even when they WERE tall enough to hit the ceiling. And now, he makes this 8 footer look fairly small. Ornaments are a mix of old, new, and in between and include ornaments the kids made in grade school, ornaments made by or given to me by friends and the kids (daughter as well as son) and other ornaments that have caught my eye over the years. I'm very sentimental and nostalgic an could never imagine buying all new ornaments and not hanging these. Some of my favorites are ones that my mom had hanging on her tree when I was a kid. We lost her in September of 2006 so those particular ornaments have an even more special place in my heart....See MoreI'll Show You Mine, If You'll Show Me Yours, Christmas Eve
Comments (14)Gazania, very nice puzzle. Must have been so hard with all those kitties similar colors. I have one of lots of wild animals, so at least they are different colors. Thanks for showing the picture. You got it done pretty quick, but I guess that's why we don't have any goodies at your house! LOL! (Like we need them---hah!) Merry Christmas!...See MoreShow me your Christmas Tree hostas
