Did yours do the multicolor changes? We have a 4.5' tall 'Homigo" that we moved with us. It's a strong growing, big stemmed plant with big leaves. So even with a heavy flower load does not weep. Made a couple mistakes at first with it reducing blooming level. It likes a sunnier spot more than most macrophylla and some size to it to bloom well. Also be careful trimming it after midsummer, may need more mature growths to bloom well. The photo below is from Hovaria of three different Kaleidoscope series varieties. I think 'Homigo' is the bluish one on the left. This shows that the series can bloom heavily and the non-weaping growth habit. These are late season photos from Esveld for 'Homigo' showing the red change potential. This is an internet early season photo showing how color develops with time. Every time you find photos of 'Homigo' you see it likes to make full rounded mopheads, packed with florets borne quite upright. Also the color is always changing with pH soil amendments. It can be more light pastel in early season color or have moderate pigment (light or nutrient contolled with more giving more color?) Interesting plant!

Luis is correct, a lot of hydrangeas going thru the green stage and less likely you'll see a pure green stage as you see on a doctored picture from the Springhill Nurseries which is famous for the heavy use of the Photoshop and ridiculous claims about plants attributes be it hardiness or lenghts of the bloom etc. Here are the true pictures of my Hobelle from Hovaria series (Kaleidoscope is a marketing name in US) in August

I have three of these which I planted last spring as babies purchased from Spring Hill. They grew a bit, they didn't flower, but they're still small. Never having had them before, I wasn't sure if I should have pruned them or not, and I didn't. They're MAYBE 8 inches tall now and have no foliage on the old growth, but there is plenty of new growth sprouting at ground level. I keep watching those dead looking branches wondering if they'll sprout too, which they haven't as of yet? Or does this puppy die back to the ground and re-grow each year?

Been looking into picotee plants like Peppermint. Commercial photo below for it. I prefer more distint markings. Thus, I'm personally more impressed with Red Ace's. Miss Saori, a red edged picotee, also can get dark tones in the leaves with enough light. Hovaria had a nice single flowered variety called Ripple listed in the past, but I can't find it in the USA. Here's a Internet photo showing Tivoli as a purple and Red Ace compared. Bavaria, the blue in the photo, I cant find in the USA. Peppermint can be a pink, purple or blue. Here's a blue internet photo. Again I'll try to hold out gor the more distint Bavaria. Bet it can be adjusted to a great purple! Based on US availability and flower markings Miss Saori, Tivoli and Red Ace are either on my yard now or wish list.
