Yahoo Web site will no longer load
Comments (20)We dilly dallied and I didn't get to hook it up. But my friend did say that she got some kind of e-mail about problems with Yahoo and Verizon as an ISP. She said she didn't pay much attention to it and deleted it because they don't have Yahoo e-mail. But they have Verizon and that is also my wireless ISP at home. Hmmm. I don't know if I will be able to test it out soon. I'm in the middle of moving and haven't been able to get to a place with another connection. I know I should have done it last night but the timing was very short. Seems to be better today. It loads, albeit slowly and slower than other sites. Just very weird because I am online a lot searching for various things and loading all kinds of Web sites and don't have a problem other than Yahoo. But so far it's OK because no one wanted the quilting fabrics I posted on Freecycle anyway, at least so far!...See MoreYahoo email ?
Comments (13)I've looked and looked and looked for a place to set it to "remember me", but I just cannot find it and I am usually good at this sort of thing. It is seriously so annoying that I may go to the trouble of switching to Gmail. I even tried searching the Yahoo Community for help, but could not come up with anything. Why don't these companies leave well enough alone? Glad to hear I am not the only one in this boat....See MoreYahoo email Screwed Up Again
Comments (14)My yahoo email hasnt worked in almost 2 weeks. I log in, and it has to verify who I am, and then tells me, I need a new password, but, it wont accept any password I have tried. It says they are too weak. Well, believe me, I have tried passwords, that if I hadnt written them down first, I would never have remembered them long enough to type them, and they will accept nothing. I give them one more week, until after the Christmas Holidays, and I am going to go find another throw away email account....See MoreYahoo says 500 million accounts stolen 9-22-16 CNN report
Comments (26)I just heard from a techy. I asked that since the breach was in 2014 and the cows are out of the barn, why does anyone with a super duper password (versus PASSWORD) need to rush to change their passwords. 1. The theft was of the database of passwords which (if I understand correctly) is different than Joe, Mary, Tom, Dick, Harry and Sue's passwords. 2. Yahoo has to at least look/be/cya responsible. 3. Yahoo, as people have pointed out, has been sliding downhill for a long time, so, ahem, just maybe, they were not going to be spending funds for security experts, technology and white-hat hackers to keep membership info secure. 4. We all know this, but to state the obvious: one needn't enter personal information such as your pet's name, where you were born, your favorite flavor....Get creative and keep a little crib sheet about it. It's true, however, that if you ever run from president of a big important country, and your detractors find out that you fibbed or were not completely truthful about this important information, you could spend eternity assuring voters that you are overall decent, committed and will serve their interests. I think our family might want to overhaul the mongrel email programs we use. So, what's out there that might be reliable? G? Good point about using one's service provider email account then getting essentially locked out of it when you switch carriers. I asked the techy my question of just what percent of their users would 500 million be. Techy said the Yahoo isn't going to let anyone know. Of course....See MoreMichael
