Show your roses by color: YELLOW
Midas Touch - I planted this one in 2013, and until this year was disappointed, because I know it is a very good rose, it finally is living up to my expectations.
Ch-Ching - This one under performed this year, but like many of my roses was doing much better late in the season.
Julia Child - A very good and lovely rose!
Michelangelo - Mine is own root, and hopefully when it becomes more established, it will be more vigorous.
Berolina - This one didn't bloom a lot this year, believe it will though, once it gets going, love the blooms.
Sunsprite - Can't help it, love this one!
Peace - My Peace blooms usually show much more pink around the edges, this bloom is an exception, however.
Lemon Spice - A beautiful rose, with a wonderful fragrance.

Comments (34)CI, TZ, SdlM all growing nicely now. I think this will be a good fragrance bed. I put Lion's rose in the back to add beauty and a good leafy background even though it isn't much on scent. I think if the base gets shaded by the others, it won't get disease. There's room to the right of Abe Darby for one more big rose. I think it's going to be Evelyn. Hopefully, it will work some magic for me. This is a good morning sun spot and gets shade in the hottest times of the day. My summer is a little hotter than Hoovb's but maybe it's close enough. I'm going to hope for the best. The only downside to this location is that it will take the full force of the Santa Ana wind from across the street. We are along the Santa Ana river channel and the wind blows strongly through the gap. It seems to be shifting later than Halloween now. Answer: standard button garden mum planted last fall, blooming now in July. A happy coincidence ! Dark red touches are Jacob Cline monarda, knockout rose new growth showing, and canna "Wyoming" leaves. Second Question: "Threedogsmom, I have those exact daylilies that are in your first picture - rust with bright yellow - a gift with no name tag. I always wondered but assumed they are just a variety of Ditch Lily. Is that right, or do you have some other name for them?" Answer: They are not the common ditch lilies - you can see a ditch lily in my second pic down, to the right, a tall scape towards the front/right of the bed. Modestgodess, you have some beauties also, especially Summer Romance and First Crush! Anna, I think they are both good roses. I got Memorial Day last year, it's a bloomin' machine, and the fragrance is wonderful! I've always been fond of Bewitched, but I have to admit I've had trouble with mine recently, those lovely blooms make me not want to give up on it though, I've grown it since the early 2000's. and until about three years ago it was one of my favorites. Comments (21)Bolero is such a prolific bloomer. It is a wonderful rose. Here are a few pics of my Bolero this past spring. Another white that blooms alot during spring flush is DA Tranquillity. Though it does not bloom as well throughout the growing season. My favorite white blend is DA Crocus Rose. It blooms very well throughout the growing season with 2 big flushes in the spring and fall and quick repeats throughout the season....See More

7 years agoMy favorite yellow is Happy Child but love all my others as well.
Happy Child seems to be saying, "Me! Me! Me!"when I see her sitting in the center of the garden. Her light green foliage is bright and up lifting.
Molinuex's prolific blooms continue to amaze me. This is a photo from spring.
Summer Love is a very reliable bloomer. It was described as "compact, great for a small garden." It was compact for a couple of years but is now about 7'x3' and produces lovely roses that are great for cutting.
Mitsouko is a great rose for warm climates. In its first year, it always bloomed in spring, summer and early fall. It's even blooming now in December but the bloom quality shows that it definitely does not like cold and rain at all.
Julia Child, a most dependable and trouble free rose. This was the first bloom of 2016.
The Poet's Wife, a nicely scented first year Austin.
Charlotte, on a late fall morning blooming on a tree standard. Another wonderfully scented Austin rose.

Charlotte/Elgin Festival:
She's a big girl even here in South Michigan.
Sunsprite:
Wonderful scent, rich colour and... So far that's it. FAST blossoms. Maybe three days tops. A black spot martyr and quite naked not long after this photo. I suspect it will exit on its own.
Sunny Knockout:
Healthy, vigorous, floriferous, sets hips, sweetly fragrant. Don't miss this (if your nose is good for it) neat aspect: I kid you not, I swear the bush itself gives off a sweet, perfumey scent that slightly reminds me of Rosa eglanteria but not as pronounced and appley. Downsides? That bloom I've shown is only how the first few flowers and start of the spring flush. The rest are sort of ratty and they age to white swiftly. The shrub does look sort of like buttered popcorn.
I also have Harison's Yellow, but no pictures because it's a 2y.o. baby that was a rooted sucker I ordered from Rogue Valley.

7 years agoI don't think you can have too many yellows. Here are some of my 2016 yellows.
SAINT PATRICK...a perfect bloom.
MOHANA, a very long lasting bloom.
GIFT OF LOVE, new in my garden this year, love the bloom form.
BUTTER CREAM, love the delicate shading and shape of the bloom, bud .

SOUTH AFRICA, a great, fun, low maintenance rose bush, except for Japanese Beetles!
TY, so many blooms/buds. I almost sp'd it years ago. It just needed more time to establish.
