Did I read that you can add Ortho Systemic to your soil?
Comments (2)I have seen Ortho Systemic recommended by one of the nursery owners on this forum.I spray it on the leaves and around the base of the plant. This gets watered in sooner or later.I think Ortho works both ways.Soil and plant. It seems to me a dilute solution, added to soil, would be ok but you would lose the absorbtion thru the leaves.Just my 2 cents worth....See MoreWhat new edibles did you add to your garden this year?
Comments (63)Over the last year I've added 2 varieties of apples, purple leafed plum, lavenders, german chamomile, roman chamomile, chicory, yarrow, elderberry, wolfberry, another hazelnut, borage, garlic, and comfrey, as well as veggies like peppers, tomatoes, radishes, scarlet runner beans, and I've just sown 2 varieties of kale. I added some things a bit late (I just recently found out about edible forest gardens!), so I may need to replace a couple of things that look iffy. This fall I'm hoping to add raspberries, thornless blackberries, red currants, grape vine, and a mulberry....See MoreContracts.. Who did you have review and anything you would add...
Comments (5)CRHBobby - We were originally going to go that route but I wanted the flexibility to have the drawings bid out.. We ended up paying about 1000 more then you did but the plans are ours.. Your builder should be receptive to minor changes in the contract, as long as they are reasonable. The way I look at the contract is that you can't have it all, nor should the builder.. The contract should create a level playing field.... On a side note.. If you have the layout you can just take it to another architect and you could have it done in about 2-3 weeks.. When we went to do our house drawings we had about 3 or 4 plans that had layouts and features we liked.. The architect then took these and came up with a custom layout..Having those drawings saved us a lot of time.. Some people go in blind and have no idea what they want.. But if you already have the layout the architect will be able to get the drawings faster and should do it pretty cheap since he doesn't have to draw it from scratch.. You paid 2500 for drawings.. They should be yours.....See MoreDo you exercise your hippocampus?
Comments (12)I do crossword puzzles everyday, and on the weekend I do the large New York Times puzzle. It takes some thinking but I can usually figure it out! Scrabble is my game. I love to come up with obscure and archaic words that my friends don't know! My mother had a great mind, very intelligent and was great at math and doing puzzles, word searches, etc. No matter how much she used her brain she still got Alzheimers. Once in a while she would blurt out a number while we were watching television. It took me a while to figure out she was adding up the telephone numbers that were on commercials. She added these numbers up so fast that she beat me. I think she was testing her brain because she must have realized something was not right. Poor mom, it is so sad. I find myself testing my brain and try to remember things I thought were long forgotten. So far so good. Anne...See More- 9 years ago
