Smudge will sit still as a statue :-) at the door wanting to go out in the hall. He just lays out there. He's staring at the doorknob, willing it to open. (That's bits of fur on the carpet, not stains)

Today's finished puzzle matches the outside scenery this morning.

Casey, that sculpture looks so happy! It's reminiscent of a turtle dancing on his back feet!

At the USS Midway in San Diego. If any of you ever have the opportunity to tour this museum ship, I highly recommend it - so very interesting and humbling. Wish those people weren't in the photo, but there are so many tourists/visitors in the area, it's almost impossible to get a shot without them:

A comment about the USS Midway situation. If you intend to visit, then plan on more than just a couple of hours. So much to see and experience. The docents are volunteers and put in thousands of hours each month. Even the maintenance folks who work on planes and other equipment are all volunteers.

Lots of people visit and there just is not a good time to take a decent photo without visitors being there.

Very cool, nicole. When you say natural art, do you mean an image that has been carved in the stone by the weather, water, sand, etc., rather than human hands?

Good points about the Midway, Jim. We spent about five hours on her and that wasn't enough time to see all of it. The stories the docents tell about the pilots and ground crews that kept the planes moving and how it was all done are fascinating.

Rusty, no I don't keep any completed puzzle for more than a couple days. To date this year, I have completed 34 puzzles. I would need to add on to the house big time to display that many. Puzzles are passed on to several different friends/organizations that can enjoy them, and pass them on again to their liking.

My sister-in-law bought me a potted mum back in September. It died, or so I thought and I looked at it the other day to see what was in the middle of it. I thought it was fallen leaves. But amazingly enough, it has flowers in the center of it, the rest still appears to be dead.

How pretty is that? Beautiful fall colors on that flower. Mums are tough. I had one in the flower beds that the deer wouldn't leave alone so I stopped taking care of it because I am giving up on flowers and am going to plant something else out there next year that deer don't like. The mum dried up completely and I thought it was dead. With the first rain, it greened up and is now standing tall and healthy. Because it tried so hard to live, I'm going to dig it up and put it in a pot. It can live on the deck safe from the deer for the rest of it's life.

DawninCal....it's said to be made my Mother Nature. This is the same park. There are a lot of "things" you can spot in the red sandstone.

Wow, Garden of the Gods looks like one the types of places we would love to visit and explore. It is south of where we have trekked in Colorado to date. But it is going on the list. Beautiful.
