bugsybanks : Finally get back to this . . . . re : "Regarding the change to IMAP, I have 3 e-mail addresses set up through my server on the desktop and all 3 are now POP3 on that computer. Do I delete each account and then recreate it as IMAP? Will I lose the e-mails that have been saved under Local Folders? " One thing . . . my "Local folders" only contain Trash & Outbox. All my other Inboxes, etc. are within separate acct folders. I.E., each other acct. contains an Inbox, Drafts, Sent, etc. - outside of "Local Folders." Anyway, there's a good chance that after you create an IMAP acct., the email that you have already downloaded using POP mail, and deleted from the server - won't show up in the IMAP Inbox. You'd have to import them back in. Just to be safe, I would export all your email first so that you have it as backup. Then make new accts as IMAP. See if everything looks correct, or if you need to import anything from the backup you just made. Finally, delete the POP accts. There is a really handy addon tool for TB : ImportExportTools https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/importexporttools/?src=search (That page looks complicated, but the use of the tool is not) The two different ways to export using that tool are - (and you get to the choices by right clicking on "Inbox" or any other folder) : 1) "Export folder" (w/ or w/o structure) This makes an Mbox file of everything that you export. It makes for just a few simple files that aggregate everything within the respective folders. So you will end up w/ one Inbox file, one Drafts file, etc. "Structure" just means you will keep the nested structure of the folders. The disadvantage is that you can't read them later w/o importing them back first (using ImportExportTools). 2) "Export all Messages" (and choose "eml" format here) This exports each email as a .eml file - and you can identify and read each one separately later after exporting. So if you export 500 emails, you'll get 500 .eml files. You can batch import them though using ImportExportTools. And you can read them just by clicking on them individually. There's no harm in exporting both ways if you like. Just create separate folders so you can keep it all straight. Play around with it a bit until you get the hang of it. For all the people recommending this way to do email or that - this debate has been going on for years. There are advantages and disadvantages to each - it really depends on your needs. I wouldn't say that any one of them is "unusual" as someone commented - what's unusual to one is likely normal to someone else. Personally I use them all, and all for different purposes - no one method seems to work for every purpose. I do use web based email for the most part though. Hope that helped. -Kent This post was edited by kbarb on Mon, Oct 20, 14 at 0:42

The info they are collecting is public knowledge... statellite views of your house, pictures from facebook or other accts. that you may not realize are public (what do you think, they broke into your hosue and took your wedding pics?). Property value info from appraisals, neighborhood info, phone numbers; it's public info. The neighborhood info is not often right because they are over generalizing and probably using national averages; Although I wouldn't doubt they have it set to list numerous people in below average neighborhoods so the people want that wrong info erased so friends won't look them up and learn they are poor. It's a ploy... They don't care if your info is correct; they want your emails. Emails linked to your personal name are generally not public knowledge though...Yes, your email itself may be out there, but not linked to your name... That's one thing they generally don't have together... Using a throw away email would probably be better than your private one...but, keep in mind, good or bad, that throw away email may one day be linked to your name in searches.

I have been making these little dresses from regular 45" cotton fabric. There are several ways to accomplish the task and IMO is a matter of preference. All you need to do is google "pillow Case Dress" and you should be directed to several different sites/videos. I prefer elastic through the neck area just in case. If the tie is tied tightly it could present a hazard...not that many items of childrens clothing could not present a hazard on a very active child. Here is one site to check out in the meantime, but I urge you to have a look at a few methods (tutorials) before you start to sew. Have fun! Thanks Shaddy. I personally use a Rolodex for all the passwords. Spinning wheel, easier to replace a card then scribbling out in a notebook which I have done in the past. I keep my passwords and my husbands on it because he keeps changing them as he forgets the old ones. You know the 'forgot your password?' Worse thing they ever offered. He keeps doing that and doesn't write it down. Like many of us, you think you'll remember. I think what he did when he turned on the Win8 computer was put hotmail address because the computer said he couldn't use it without one. At least that's what he remembers. He states he never put a password for log on. I'm not sure but he has never had a log-on password but the Start-Up screen might have confused him. I can use it but have to log on this hotmail address to get in. I can't find a way to change the log on to my name nor get rid of the hotmail address. I did turn him off as administrator and put myself, but only his log-on appears when you turn the machine on. I'll figure it out eventually when I stop using my XP machine. I just don't have the energy for this anymore. Its so tiring and time consuming to hunt around for answers or where Microsoft decided to move everything and change the names. I thought the easiest thing would be to wipe it all out by reinstalling Windows until I realized it never came with disks. How dumb! Anyway, us older folks keep plugging away best we can. I don't feel like spending the money on a tech, at this point. You and Emma are doing better than me. I haven't even gotten to Win 10 yet! Got to get past Win 8 first. Good luck to all, Jane
