Do you use your coffeemaker on your counter under your cabinets?
Comments (36)I had the same concern. I do have a little coffee station that my Dh built. It was a consolation prize because I really wanted the Bosch built in coffee maker. And he said it was too much and that our Coffee maker works just fine. I have no idea what you should do. I wish I had a suggestion. Here is my coffee nook. I love it, but keep in mind I did not spend lots on cabinetry. I would have rather had new cabs. ~boxer Here is a link that might be useful: E-How coffee makers and cabinets...See MoreHow do you sort out your seasonal decor?
Comments (24)I have edited a lot of my seasonal decor but still have more than I used this year so must edit more. I used to have 12 totes of Christmas decor (as well as trees) but found that large totes take more space than boxes and can get heavy so went back to storing in small cardboard boxes. These fit well in my 'secret' storage closet which is behind the closet in the guest bedroom. Fall/Halloween/Thanksgiving decor is in 4 large totes. Easter has one and I'm going to give most of that away as I only use it when the Grands come. Otherwise I use a few spring-like decor items but not specific to Easter. Much of my decorative accessories are not in totes or boxes but in closets where I can see what I have and choose what to decorate with. All vases, candlesticks, urns, trans-seasonal items are on shelves. It's important to me to keep these items out of bins and on shelving where I can easily choose what to use. My house has many storage closets as we planned for that before building. However, any clothes closet can be fitted with shelves which would work similarly. IMO too many bins often means "out of sight, out of mind" and those items seldom see the light of day. No point in having things one never uses. Of course it's taken me decades to come to this POV! :D...See MoreDo you use various wash cycles?
Comments (19)Thanks all. On Labor Day I had ordered a new top load LG washer and matching dryer, but I didn't get the washer with the sanitary, delicate, perma press.... cycles. Since it wasn't delivered yet, I just now upgraded the washer for an extra $70 which has the mentioned cycles. I do have things that require special wash that I always did by hand or dry cleaning, but never used the "special" cycles in my Kenmore (which I hate, BTW) - my ignorance. So, I will make it an appoint to use those special cycles with this new one and I bet I'll see a difference in some of the fabrics....See MoreLets do a back out in the world wardrobe help refresh "ideas" post.
Comments (49)Going with DH to the doc this morning and inspired by this thread, I decided to step up my outfit game. I have a cream colored merino wool knit jacket. It wears like a sweater but looks more polished, like a jacket. I last wore it before the lockdown. I had it cleaned and put it away. This morning, when I got it out, I noticed one of the buttons was broken in half and a stain that the cleaners failed to totallly remove has oxidized front and center! I can’t decide whether to see if I can find the replacement button that I’m sure came with it and wash it to remove the stain, or just give it away! I’m so bummed....See MoreJAN MOYER
