that drawer under your cabinet to the counter (dish hutch)
Comments (12)Shoot. Phone auto corrected. What I meant to say is that I need to approve the cabinet drawings soon so if there are changes I need to make them quickly. Autumn, I don't know 100% what I would put there as the main reason I wanted the drawer there was so I can set something on the counter in front of it and so open the door, like a stack of plates or a couple bowls, etc. Things that comes to mind are flatware or take out menus. Not large bowls or Tupperware or anything like that....See Moreitltrot, do you have any more pictures of your cabinets/counter?
Comments (19)Couldn't find my receipt for the mosaic tile over the weekend so I called the tile store. They are Vetro Metalli Mosaic and the color I got is Platino. They were definitely a splurge which is the reason they were only randomly placed around the rest of the kitchen. They don't look fabulous on the website as samples but I think they are displayed as the main picture on this link. The granite tiles I purchased from the local tile store but the were available at Lowe's. My local store had a better price because they forgot to do a price increase until after they quoted me. I know tiles are readily available at most home improvement stores or tile stores. I've even found a store 100 miles away that carries edge pieces for a few granite colors so you don't have to use the chair rail pieces like we did and it looks more like a slab. The chair rail, pencil liners and rectangle back splash tiles are all stock items from Lowe's. Thanks again for the compliments. Hubby and I love it and it's nice to know other people like elements too. Here is a link that might be useful: Vetro Metalli...See MoreWhat do YOU use to clean your quartz countertops!
Comments (7)We have granite counters and glass tile backsplash. I use the recipe for cleaner from this website. Alcohol, water, dawn & essential oil for aroma. (1/4 cup alcohol, 3 drops dawn, 5-10 drops essential oil (optional) into a spray bottle and fill rest with water) Works perfectly. I was told using windex on either the granite or the glass tiles would dull them over time. Tho I did live in a rental with black granite and used windex on it for years.....didn't see any changes in the granite....See MoreWhat do you use to clean your countertops?
Comments (43)I finally found a convenient way to keep my counters clean. In the picture below, look at the white bucket on the left. Ignore everything else because the picture was taken a few months ago. Recently I signed up for Grove and received the freebie bucket along with other cleaners. Mrs. Meyer's all purpose cleaner is in the spray bottle. There's another bottle in the cabinet for refills. The lavender scent fills the whole room. The bucket is nice enough to keep on the counter and it has the cleaner, hand soap, lotion, Mrs. Myer's dish soap, and I'll always keep Dawn. After clearing crumbs I spray MM on the counter & wiping it with a damp Handiwipe (the only thing I'll ever use), and dry the granite with a dishtowel or papertowels. No streaking or anything. Having everything within reach sure makes it easy....See MoreUser
