I couldn't make it through so many questions. Sheesh. Many of the works were very exemplar and the other person listed nothing like the other, therefore, many were self answered.

I did pretty well.....only missed three!! But it was just as often a case of knowing who it was NOT, given the two choices, as it knowing who the artist was :-) And I do have a bit of a fine arts background, which may be something of an advantage.........

I only got 72% however for me that's pretty good.

87%. Some I had never heard of, so just guessed on those. Impressionists are my favorites.

Apparently I know the classics - and that's all I know. That will tell you what my score is which isn't as nearly as high as you smart guys. LOL

I scored 94 which kinda surprised me. I answered very quickly with my gut reaction. I guess all those college art courses stuck in my head. I hadn't thought of some of those artists in years.

I got 92% but I have an edge as I'm an artist and studied for years.

I got 89% and could have done better if I'd thought about it a minute more but got tired towards the end.

98% here. Only missed Lucian Freud- I've only seen a couple of his paintings and am not a fan.

I did take Art History 101 fifty-five years ago in college! And I used to take my children to art museums regularly.

Lucian Freud was one of the ones I'd never heard of. I think there were two others.

When my kids were growing up we used a book called Adventures in Art that showed paintings from the National Gallery of Art and talked about each one, pointing out various aspects and details the casual viewer would be likely to miss. I look forward to reading it with my older grandson, whose favorite Kindergarten subject is art.

98%. Came close to missing the last Pisarro., wavering between the two. But I agree with gardengal, sometimes it was a case of knowing that it was defintely not one of the two choices as much as recognizing the work of the particular artist that it was. They sure had a lot of Van Gogh.

Lucian Freud was a favorite of the late Dowager Duchess of Devonshire, Deborah Mitford. He painted her portrait and when her husband, the Duke, went to Freud's studio to see it and was standing looking at it, another man in the room came up and said, "Who on earth is that?" The Duke replied, "It's my wife", at which point the other man said, "I'm glad she's not mine!"

He also painted the Queen.
