Selecting Sweet-Tart Cherry for Western Washington

Hello All,

I am looking to add a cherry tree to the garden and am intrigued by the sweet-tart varieties. Has anyone grown Danube or Almaden Duke? What was your experience with it? There is wildly divergent information out there on the web - most nurseries call both varieties very productive (due perhaps to the Gisela-5 rootstock?) but I've seen a lot of anecdotal evidence online that Danube in particular is very reluctant to produce. Should I just go with Montmorency instead? I am in Seattle, Zone 8, with cool springs, warm and dry summers, and a mild and wet winter.

Thanks!
