Even better cold from the fridge but what was it?

I made this casserole yesterday. Basically kept adding stuff until there was enough to fill the dish. It was really good. Everybody enjoyed it. But of course, it's irreproducible. Do you have ones like that? I just ate up the remaining piece, cold, and it was amazing. The dominant flavor, now that it was cold, was fenugreek, which I adore, but it was the whole that made it so good. Including the big slug of cream which needed using up. :)

The veg were all roasted with light olive oil and different spices. The bottom was big slices of Yukon gold potato roasted with lots of fenugreek and dried chives. The rest was in multiple layers of sweet potato ribbons roasted with smoked Spanish paprika, sliced red onion roasted with Penzey's Greek seasoning blend, yellow squash longways with Spice Hunter lemon pepper blend, and pulled apart chicken steam roasted with a Korean style dark sauce, garlic seasoning and sesame seeds. Or something like that. And a rich custard to hold it together.

I was worried that all those different spices would clash, though I knew the cream would help marry them--if they didn't fight that too. It all worked, however, and if picked apart the various bits still had their individual flavors, though all in one bite is where it was really good.

Sometimes, I guess it does pay to cook before you wake up. :)
