Comments (6)This weekend part of the pack of hounds went somewhat off course. I went to try to help and when I got there they had got most of the pack back together, but had to trot up the road for a way to get to a safe location hang out waiting for other hounds to re-appear. They did have a "road whip" driving along behind them with its emergency blinkers on to ensure no cars came racing up behind. It's unusual for the hounds to cross a road since foxes usually circle around within their territory. Someone thought the hounds were on the scent of a coyote, which run more in a straight line. Comments (15)Trees bordering a cemetery are nice but there is a downside. In my town, there is a historic cemetery that has maple trees along its front border. Many of the town founders are buried there. I suspect those trees may have contributed to the street name; It is Maple avenue. Those trees are over 100 years old and some have died. Storms occasionally topples one of these trees with monster trunks, and when that happens, tombstones are damaged or wrecked. Old cemeteries I have visited that have endured the best are devoid of deciduous trees. A few shrubs and certain evergreens seem to endure without causing a lot of damage....See Morehooked123
