The pendants look gorgeous in the kitchen. My only concern about your husband's fantastic pendants is that they may be too small for the pool table. I'm probably wrong, just wanted to mention in in case it mattered in the end. Lining bookshelves with grasscloth puzzles me a bit. Isn't the point of the grasscloth the texture and the point of the shelves to be filled, hence negating the texture? OTOH if you did not pay much for the bonus of having grasscloth, and all you care about it the color- awesome. I love it when shelves contrast in deep or bright colors. I think a small, taller table between the two overstuffed chairs will be lovely with new chairs. Maybe a tea table? I think you have a very cohesive space. I love your style very much- it's classic and warm.

Hello everyone!! I NEED HELP!!! I purchased 2 Duke Oversized Pendants (16 inch overall diameter) in 2020 on Pottery Barn site. They make my whole kitchen!! The glass on one of them broke and Pottery Barn site says No Longer available! Ive been in tears for weeks!!! Can anyone tell me where I can find one of these?? My email is ginamt2@yahoo.com. I would not do a pendant in this kitchen, you wont get the impact because you can only do one and it cannot be large or it would look out of place over the counter top. another factor is your ceiling height, which I assume to be 8ft, this means a large pendant really wont work as you will not get much cord drop. I know you are looking for pretty here, I get that, but this room will change a lot once the wall goes back in and the counter is placed. if i was you I would have them center an electrical box where you want the pendant on the idea that they can come back in and change it to a remodel pot if you decide against it.

Thank you for all your responses. We decided to leave them as is for now and reevaluate later. They do look lined up from the outside and will look center once the counter goes in. The cabinet closest to the left pendant light does hit the light if opened past 80degrees, but this is fixable if we get a skinnier pendant light. If it becomes a bother we will get skinnier lights in the future and replace them ourselves. We have no choice for the header, a load bearing wall was removed there. House is built in the 50s and a big wooden beam was the only option we could afford to implement. My husband is 6'2" tall and the lights don't block his field of vision, so we are happy with the height of them. As for the boob light, that is a tough one. Our table goes lengthwise lined up with the center window. Wherever we put our table it is not center with the boob, and thus makes it hard to otut a pendant or chandelier that doesn't look out of place. We have thought about this before. For now, we will leave the booby, but once the other renovations are done and our furniture is back in the house, I will make another post for suggestions to get that booby out of there!
