Kitchen pendant lights

I am taking it slowly- time & budget makes this a slow process!! I added green plants that I've kept alive for months-- yay! Added lamps made from old balusters- height & I do love the light. Painted the cedar trim the color of the walls to reduce visual clutter. Now, it's lighting.

This new round shade pendant matches the one I have over the dr table that is rectangle. Prefer this one to the one DH made from bolts?

Next up is to replace the galvanized barn lights with these from PB.

Not thebest pics, but hope you can see well enough.

Am I on the right track with these new pendants?

Lol-- split so far!!

we went ahead & hung the other chandelier. I think once I get the PB sconces, it'll tie it all together. Hoping for a Labor Day sale this weekend.

Pictures really show my to do list!! Cushion for bench coming:)

This shows the DR chandelier & next picture shows candle arm sconces on FP - which I *think* relates back to the drum chandeliers?!?

To do: hang painting & having new lamps made to flank each side on console table. Striped chairs are going- cheaply made & we sit here all the time. Need better quality here. Would like something not as deep & maybe add a small breakfast table instead of ottoman.

It's such a process!! Overwhelming sometimes- I've been here almost 2 years!!

So, here's my next conundrum-- putting DH bolt lights above the pool table? Sconces will be added over the bookshelves-eventually (to do list, again!)

I kinda like the mix of traditional pool table & rug with the lights. What do you think?

I apologize for the length & many issues in this post!! I know my house is different & not like everyone else's-maybe not even a style you like. I'm looking for it all becoming a cohesive space since it's all open.

I really like the PB lights. Much better than the black metal shades I remember you were considering. I can't see the details of the shade pedant but it looks rustic enough to work with the rest. The size looks better than the bolt light. Is it a paper shade?

I like the PB lights as well. What about replacing those and trying them with the bolt lights? I always thought the "off" was the barn lights and would hate to see your hubby's labor of love get booted if they can work with the new wall lights.

Not a pro. You may have to go smaller - 3 pendants could get crowded on an island that’s less than 8 ft long. The trend seems to be to go larger and only use 2, but you can’t go too large with 8 ft ceilings, so it’s a balance. Here’s a guide to spacing

What is your cabinet hardware if any? If it's just those two things and no cabinet hardware, it works for me. But it depends on the cabinet hardware.

I prefer the round shade pendant. I like the size and it brightens your kitchen. Love your new sconce choice too!

And I want to put blue grass cloth on the back of the shelves around the pool table- that goes with blue in rug?!?

The pendants look gorgeous in the kitchen. My only concern about your husband's fantastic pendants is that they may be too small for the pool table. I'm probably wrong, just wanted to mention in in case it mattered in the end.

Lining bookshelves with grasscloth puzzles me a bit. Isn't the point of the grasscloth the texture and the point of the shelves to be filled, hence negating the texture? OTOH if you did not pay much for the bonus of having grasscloth, and all you care about it the color- awesome. I love it when shelves contrast in deep or bright colors.

I think a small, taller table between the two overstuffed chairs will be lovely with new chairs. Maybe a tea table?

I think you have a very cohesive space. I love your style very much- it's classic and warm.

I have gotten the new PB sconces up over the windows. Do y'all like them better than the barn lights?

Im waiting on articulating sconces(same style) to go next to range hood.

I'm still considering adding fabric to the windows-maybe a soft relaxed mock roman shade- to further soften the look in here.

Lisa Fine textiles- love the soft organic feel to these fabrics.

Thoughts?

I think your choices look great! I like the sconces and the pendants! For fabric I like the 2nd best and then the 1st.

I'm not too sure about the placement of them where the shade hangs over the molding. The middle one looks a bit small over the larger window.

I would add a shade because I love fabric and patterns. I like both of the first two, but the second one is probably more rustic farmhouse and suits the room better.

Mayflowers, I'm not sure that I can do anything about the placement. I mean, I could-but it might cause a divorce!!! I'm hoping that the fabric shades will help detract from that.

Thank you, Aktillery! I really love the 2nd one too. Now, to save my $$ for that fabric.

Anyone know a source for her fabrics?

I like the new ones so much better than the first sconces and they coordinate well with your beautiful new pendants! I'm a sucker for birds so that's my fave fabric, but they are all lovely.

I really like the new lights. Very nice.

I like all the fabrics but #2 is my favorite. I like birds.
