Comments (16)The wall color is not bringing out the best in the fireplace or the cream colored chair in the corner. There is not enough contrast. It might be the wrong color altogether to go with the fireplace surround. I can't really tell since the picture doesn't show it close up. If you just painted I can understand you may not want to repaint, but if this is an option, look at colors that are present in the fireplace surround but are either lighter or darker than what you already have. Be thinking about your window treatments before you paint so they coordinate....See MoreBoys bedroom help
Comments (7)I love that he reads but yes I need to have the sizes of the walls and if you use graph paper it is quite easty to do a scaled floor plan just measure the floor all 4 walls make sure the measurements are clearly marked show where the window is and its size where the cabinet and also if it can be moved. Maybe some pics of the shelving you are asking about too.I for sure can't see putting shelving on the wall above the top bunk bed but have you looked at trundle binks then there would be a big drawer under the bottom bunk for tons of stuff. So like this but no mattress in that bottom drawer. And even the bookcase at the end could work....See Moremaster bedroom help
Comments (8)I think if you add some black to the dresser top they should be fine together I am not enamoured with a bunch of matching bedroom furniture .As for the size of the nightstand that all depends on the size of your bed . I think the dresser has art deco feel and so does the night table and I happen to love the rossette and IMO not at all victorian just fun/ It would be nice to see your bed to really have good advice here . I happen to have a platform bed so my night tables are lower ....See MoreSmall bedroom help please
Comments (14)mmmmmmm see this? Dark is far different than dreary. You're leaning dreary. Dark is actually fabulous, but it's a bit like a black cocktail dress - you need the sparkle of jewelry , great shoes/bag......make up ! In other words, decoration, and electricity. Get a 6 x 9 rug. I'd not fear a clean bright white slipcover for the sofa. Don't faint......I might paint it yet deeper a green! The room is only suffering from a lack of contrast and intensity. It's got ONE window and it is never going to be a bright space so make what you have fabulous. Get a light sisal/jute rug, a white slip cover, I'd lose the valance and florescent light. A woven natural shade with a privacy on an OUTSIDE mount, and higher than that window casing. One thing to yank and they come cordless. Add A.R.T......See Moreemmarene9
