What's Happened Here?
Comments (38)hi all, im sort of a an old newbie, did some trading here well in seed swap any way, but in my 2nd month as a member got busted three times in same week for posting wrong, didnt get any warnings that i was doing it wrong till low and behold got all three warnings in one day. i had lost someones addy and posted everywhere except right place. so after a long while i just resigned up under new name but haven't done any trading till this past two weeks, was trying to get rid of all my cannas and monkey grass and started posting it for sasbe. needless to say i got alot of e-mails asking THEY FIT IN A SASBE? LOL as i said i had only done seed swapping before so i didn't know the termanolgy for shipping plants....but i was instructed on how to phrase it correctly..LOL thanks all for the help.. hopefully i will make some new friends here as well. i've also learned a few things after my first shipment of plants,, if you go overboard trying to impress someone with a big plant it costs alot...LOL well heres to future trades and garden friends. hope you all have a blooming good day!!! see you in the trade lines, darlene...See MoreThoughts on July 4. Comments (27)Yes of course it can happen again. Genocides happened before and they HAVE happened again. Even if the actual genocides don’t happen, the dehumanizing of entire populations that is one of the steps towards that process still happen in even North America and IS happening. As does apparently the tearing apart of families without care or regard for the consequences, the lack of an ability to empathize and understand what persecution and violence others may be seeking refuge from (because no, they are just coming to steal jobs and mow down people in outdoor concerts and nightclubs (oh, wait, those were white Americans!) The German people did not just wake up one day agreeing to contain and murder millions of Jews, homosexuals, Gypsies, political activists. It was a slow boil - years of inciting and encouraging racism, intolerance, violence, marking and verbally attacking those who were “different” (labeling entire populations with stereotypes) that led to that point where genocide was just the new normal. So yes, it can happen again, and as I said, it does....See MoreNot much happening here........
Comments (7)Always quite busy in my neck of the woods. Wrens, chickadees and titmice are building or are on nests. Cardinals seem to be in courting mode. The red tailed, red shouldered, and cooper hawks have been paired up and am watching one build a nest. Had huge flocks of finches and siskins move through for several weeks - was filling 8 feeders daily !!$$$ Found 2 dead finches on the ground and then read about a bird virus that was taking a toll in the southeast. Took all feeders down for 2 weeks, sterilized them and just put them out a few days ago. The big migratory flocks of finches have moved on but the blackbirds just arrived. Waiting on the grosbeaks and buntings to pay me a visit anyday. Sitting on the deck, recovering from a root canal : ( saw a flock of +- 50 cedar wax wings hopping around the canopy of a sugarberry tree....See MoreHere’s some of what’s happening in my yard
