Do you use it or toss it?
Comments (18)oh susan, your comment.. 'because I'm organized' made me laugh. I am always so unorganized when I have people over I couldn't even contemplate the thought. In fact, last time I had guests over and made turkey, I intended to give the carcass to my brother, but accidentally sent him home with something else (I'm not even sure what?)! Wish I was more organized....See Morewhere do you toss clothes at night?
Comments (20)I mostly place my dirty clothes in the laundry basket located in our 2nd floor laundry room. Sometimes they do land on the floor of my walk-in closet or on the hooks I have in the closet. Now my husband is another issue. I have a whole room dedicated to his messiness. It's "his room". He wanted one and yeh, it's truly a mess. That's were his clothes go. Any surface that is empty soon gets filled with stuff. He did have an organized walk-in in that room that I worked very hard on. Clothes just don't seem to hit it. LOL. Actually, we start the clean out process today. His Mom is coming in from FLA and we are celebrating her 90th B-day. Lot's a company coming. I should take pictures of the before and after. It will be a kodak moment....See MoreDo you sauté your mushrooms & onions for soup?
Comments (11)Yes, and I deglaze them with white wine when they are done, which plumps them up and gives them even more flavor. Usually I add a bit of thyme when sautéing them as well. When using dried mushrooms in soups, I soak them and then put the soaking water into the broth, straining the last bit to make sure it does not contain dirt. I do not sauté dried mushrooms that I rehydrate. I use raw onions for making stock, but I sauté onions that are going into soup or sauce....See MoreWhat do YOU do when you can't sleep?
Comments (66)It's no wonder you're having trouble sleeping with that bright light shining into your bedroom. The management of the other building may not realize that it's so intrusive. Perhaps you could ask them to adjust it so that it doesn't shine so directly into you apt. I rarely have trouble getting to sleep, but I sometimes hve trouble staying asleep and find myself awake in the wee hours. It doesn't happen very often now, but the last few years of my working life it was almost every night. I chalked it up to having work related things on my mind. Anyway, what I did/do that works like a charm for me is to play a mental exercise. I'll pick something like places, foods, names, etc., and starting with the letter A think of all of the places/foods/names I can that start with A. When I can't think of anymore, I move to B and so on. Rarely do I get further than C or D before falling back to sleep. An example of places could go something like Alaska, Arkansas, Amsterdam, Africa, Albuquerque and so on. I'm always amazed at how well it works as I would think it would stimulate my brain and make me more awake, but it seems to have the opposite effect....See More- 10 years ago
