Location of new line set question.

The installers will be putting in a Trane XL 16i heat pump and TEM6 AH next week.

They gave me two options for routing the new line set. I should note that the XL 16i will sit 12 inches away from my outdoor wall.

One option is to run the new line set through the same opening that was used for the line set for my old Lennox HP, which is being removed. If they do that, the drop in distance from where the new line set connects to the back of the XL 16i to the current opening in the outside wall will be about 15 inches over that 12 inch distance to the outside wall.

The other option is to drill a new hole in the outside wall so that the new line set enters the outside wall at the same height that it leaves the back of the XL 16i.

Not sure if this is relevant, but after the line set passes through the outside wall, it is routed upward toward the ceiling of the basement.

Is there any significant advantage to the second choice?

Thanks for your assistance.
